Nikki's P.O.V.

"HEY! YOU MORONS BETTER GET YOUR ASSES BACK HERE!" I was done putting up with their shit. Spence and Oli think they can get away with anything and there won't be any consequences. I guess since technically they are the two most important people in the pack, being beta and alpha and all, I see why they think that, but I'm not letting them get away with this. They have stolen my freaking phone for the third time in the last hour. Now usually I would not be pissed, I'd act like it's no big deal, but right now my best friend in the world is supposed to be calling me to tell me all about meeting her mate last night.

Meeting your mate is a big deal and Kayla thought she could get away with sending me a simple text. Ha, she thought wrong. We decided we would talk about it this morning after he took her to breakfast, but then these idiots had to steal my flipping phone.

Don't get me wrong, I love Oli. He's literally the best brother a girl can ask for. And his best friend Spencer, damn is he hot! He is the alpha of our pack and has a lot of responsibilities with that, but put the two dip-wads and myself together and we create the perfect triangle of teasing. There is no line to cross when we make fun of one another because if there was, we'd be constantly crossing it. We tend to say whatever is on our minds, whether it is offensive or not. Nothing is taken seriously though because if so, we would have all killed each other when we were six from all the cruel things we say.

But at this moment in time, I'm reconsidering that whole deal and might just end their sorry asses right now! Being the alpha and beta they were by far the strongest and fastest two in the pack, I wasn't bad for a girl, but they're on their own level which is so not fair.

"Aww but my poor sister, if we give you your phone back, where would the fun be in that?" Oli continued to taunt me. I think I'll be planning my brother's funeral tonight because I'm so going to kill him. "We've been working so fucking hard Nik, we deserve a good teasing!" Make that a double funeral and the nomination of a new alpha because they're not making it out of here tonight.

"You idiots know why I need my phone! Go have your fun somewhere else, if I miss Kay's call, you losers are going to regret being born!" I was on the verge of tearing their heads off. "Well someone's angry, it's kinda cute." And there it is. Spence messing with my heart strings again. I have always had a little girl crush on Spence, but being a werewolf, you have a special connection once you shift for the first time and you meet your mate. Spence and I don't have that connection since I shifted on my 17th birthday like most female werewolves, and he shifted on his 15th like most guys. If we had that special "mate" connection we would know by now.

Right then my phone started ringing, and Kayla's picture was flashing on my screen.

"Give it to me right now!" I said trying to sound calm and stern, but the anger in my voice made it falter a little bit. The boys looked at each other, most likely speaking through their mind-link and blocking me out. They were probably debating on whether they should give it back to me or not.

Right when my phone was about to stop ringing, Spence yelled, "Think fast!" and threw my phone to me. I quickly pressed the green accept button on my iPhone, and greeted my best friend with a sigh of relief.

As if she was there, Kayla sighed in annoyance, "They stole your phone again didn't they?" I just laughed because she knows the boys and how they act almost as well as I do. "Don't they have some big boy pack responsibilities, or searching for their mates or something better to do other than annoying my Nikki?" I laughed again, all my anger from the frustrating last hour with the boys completely wiped away. "I wish, but honestly Kay, I think they're just as excited as I am to hear about Derek, but they just won't admit it!" Although the triangle of mischief has always been Spence, Oli, and I, they still love Kayla like a little sister since she is my best friend. But right now I don't care about the boys and their protectiveness of my BFF, I need to know all the juicy details on Derek. "Now, you better tell, me everything and don't you dare skip out on any of the tiny juicy details!"

Kayla and I talked for hours about Derek, how they met, their date that morning, their future, everything! We honestly probably could have talked for a week if Oli didn't interrupt me.

"Hey Nikki?"

"I know you want to know about Kay, Oli, but seriously you know you can't interrupt girl talk!"

"I'm sorry Nik, but it's not that. We have a problem. The Midnight pack is attacking the Starfyre pack again, and they've asked us for assistance. We're heading out in 5 min. So wrap up and get ready."

I ended my call with Kayla right away.

Starfyre was our neighboring pack and we have a strong alliance with them. Lately, the fucking Midnight pack has been attacking a lot of packs in the area because they think they're all that and now they're attacking our friends, not cool. I heard the douchebag alpha that runs the Midnight pack is looking to expand his land and doesn't mind taking over a few packs in the process. Ass whole. If I ever set my eyes on him, he won't even know what hit him.
