"Heard my brother actually talked to you," the girl next to me stated. I was in my sixth period, theatre, now and, evidently, Julian's sister was in my class. "He hadn't talked to anybody at all since we arrived, accept when he needed to. To know he willingly spoke to you is truly amazing!" She laughed.

I continued reading my book. I was on the third book of The Mortal Instruments series, and at a good part! I just couldn't concentrate with her chatter.

"You don't talk much, do you?" She continued to ramble. "Oh!" She facepalmed. "Duh. I haven't introduced myself! I'm Makenna."

The girl held her hand out to me and I turned to stare at her. Her eyes widened.

"Oh my gosh, are you deaf? Can you read lips or something? I'm so sorry, I didn't know!" Makenna panicked.

I gathered my things and stood with a deep frown, going to move to a different seat, just as the teacher walked in.

"Take your seats," he said with a smile and stood in front of the class. I sighed and took my seat next to Makenna, not wanting to be rude by continuing to walk around.

About halfway through the class, Makenna turned to me. "How long have you been in theatre?"

I slumped. Of course she'd try to talk to me again. I suppose I can't avoid having a conversation with her.

"Six years," I stated. I began wanting to act in 3rd grade, and found a job in voiceover acting for kids shows in 5th. I started taking classes in 6th grade, and had to drop out of voiceover acting in 7th due to family issues.

"Really? That's so cool! I've taken theatre for two years," she smiled widely.

I found myself smiling back. She seems pretty cool. Maybe having a friend besides Toni wouldn't be so bad...
