Reading over what I have of this story so far is somewhat disappointing lol. I spotted so many errors, but decided not to correct them. I'm not going to edit this story unless it is directly pointed out by a reader that a part confuses them, because it shows how much I've grown in my writing as is. So please tell me if you don't understand something. Without further ado, here it is!

*Julian's POV*
I hadn't been fighting off the rouges for more than 15 minutes, though it felt like seconds, when the sound of an explosion erupted, causing the rouge wolves to freeze. I didn't know what was happening, but I took the moment of hesitance as an opening and killed my opponent.
Before I figured out what was actually going on, the rouges retreated. I followed after them, furious as well as curious. Wolves are just as curious as a fox at times, and Nyx was in control.
I ran at my fullest, right on their tails. But then something happened.
I felt a wave of ferocious anger sweep over me and heard unknown whispers and slowed to a stop. The angry whispers quickly vanished and I watched as wolves that had been lagging behind were slaughtered by an invisible force all at once. Shocked, I hesitantly made my way over to the bloody, shredded corpses of the, now human, rouges.
My ears flattened against my head and a low growl thundered from my chest when I noticed a finger of the one I was inspecting, twitch. But they are all dead now. I don't know if any got away, but I knew my pack was safe.
If I hadn't been killed, then the members of my pack wouldn't have been, either. Right?
I bolted back to the village at top speed.
Please tell me my pack is alright. My mate is alright.
It didn't take long to get back to the pack village; it was deserted. I quickly transformed back into my human form behind a house where I'd hidden some basketball shorts. I pulled on the shorts before jogging to the bunkers.
Opening the large metal door in the basement of the pack house, I looked around to see the entirety of the pack there. Men were comforting their wives and holding their children while elders spoke to each other in somewhat hushed voices. You'd think it would be hectic, but safety procedures are to stay quiet and hidden, and even the children know to do so. Babies are harder to keep calm, but mothers often manage.
I spotted Makenna and made my way to her. Before she could react, I hugged her. She immediately wrapped her arms around me and I could feel her thankfulness that I was alright.
"Where's Aspen?" I questioned as soon as I pulled away, looking her in the eyes, searching for an answer. Makenna shot me a somewhat sorrowful look and I immediately panicked. "Where is she?!"
"She's in the back - sleeping. Something happened to her, but we don't know what just yet." If she continued talking, I wouldn't know, because I was already off to find my mate, praying to the moon goddess that she wasn't injured.
"Alpha." One of my pack warriors was there. "You must be looking for the luna."
"I am. Take me to her."
"Right this way." The warrior lead me to a cot where my beautiful mate lay sleeping. I examined her for any signs of injury, and sighed when seeing nothing. I turned back to the warrior.
"Thank you." He nodded and moved to stand at the foot of Aspen's bed. I'm assuming Makenna had made sure that he stayed there to watch over her.
I mind linked Blake and Dustin to lead the pack members from the bunker as I was tending to Aspen. They did so and soon the very large room was empty except for me and my mate. I slipped my arms beneath her back and legs and lifted her up with ease. She's so light.
I carried her to her room, knowing she wouldn't like waking in my room, and laid her on her bed. Slipping her shoes off so she's more comfortable, I wished I could change her into sleepwear all together. But I was able to restrain myself from doing so and instead covered her with the blanket.
I found myself smiling at her peaceful form and pulled the chair that sat at the desk up next to her, leaning forward so my elbows rested on the edge of the bed. I wanted so badly for her to love me the way I already love her. She may be a witch, but she's my mate and nothing will change that. She told me that she is destined for greatness and I believe her. Her will is so strong and her personality so perfect, it'd be hard to doubt.
The only thing that surprises me is how easily she seems to accept her destiny. I was never one to believe that anyone could have a destiny, but seeing how confident she is in herself and her abilities and this legacy of hers, it's beginning to get hard to deny. And that makes me wonder, what is my destiny?
Could it be to become the best alpha of this region? Or is it something simpler than Aspen's? Perhaps my destiny is to simply be the best mate to her and the best father to our pups. I found myself smiling and thinking how happy I'd be if that were my destiny.
But then I shook my head. I'm the alpha of the BloodLuna pack. I can't be thinking about stupid things like destiny. I control my own life and that's that.
I moved my hand to brush a stray strand of hair from Aspen's face. She really is beautiful, with her bright grey eyes covered by her eyelids, her long, dark eyelashes brushed her high cheekbones. Her eyebrows weren't too thing or too arched, they were naturally shaped perfectly. Her lips were full and uneven, but that was all the more alluring in my opinion. That got me thinking about when I'd kissed her.
She'd pushed me away, looking so bothered by something, and I'd been hurt, thinking maybe she just doesn't want me. But here she is and, in her own way, she seems to be giving me a chance to prove myself. I don't know how I'm going to get her to love me, but I know it's going to happen.
I just hope that it's sooner rather than later, or I might just go insane.
