'So this is what meant by 'see you tomorrow'.'
Sky grumbled mentally as she watched the new student that was lazily introduced by the teacher come in. Most of the people in her class started chattering and whispering real loud as the silver-eyed boy stood in front.
"Hello!" He greeted with a toothy smile. "The name's Cloud Terlou! 16 years of age and I'm looking forward to have friends!"
Sky eyed him for a moment before scoffing, and took out a notebook from her bag and reviewed whatever the latest lesson was.
He seemed to have his bandages changed, still covering his right eye, his raven-black hair that partly covered the bandage and reached his neck-which was covered by a blue bonnet with a white rim. Other than that, he just wore his uniform that consisted of blue plaid pants and necktie that loosely hang around his neck, cream coffee-colored blazer and white, collared button-down shirt that had the first one unbuttoned.
She indulged herself with problems that she forgot to answer the night before. Although, she couldn't help but recall what happened yesterday.
That is until, she noticed him walking on the aisle near her.
"Mr. Terlou, you can sit beside Ms. Windneil."
She tensed up as she looked at the seat beside her. When was it empty?
Then she realized, she never really cared of what was happening around her. She barely interacted with people unless it's group work or she was forced to do so. It was a good thing that no one ever bothered to do anything to her. Just a few words and the message will be understood.
She preferred this, but somewhere in her heart, she'd always feel a tug that makes her want to interact with others.
But she can't. She didn't want to experience the past. She didn't want to let what happened in the past be brought back again.
It was fine like this.
Sky sighed in relief when he didn't interact with her. She glanced to the side to inspect him once more, a happy-go-lucky look plastered on his face as he sat down and paid attention to the teacher in front.
But memories from yesterday dirstracted her.
:::
Sky made a mental note to change her clothes right after she gets home and at least clean up the jacket the boy named Cloud had lent her. Before she could take a single step so she can go home, she noticed a bright glow that was coming from behind her. Was it another ghost-shenanigan again?
Another wave of hesitation came before she turned around to see what was going on.
There were floating rings that were shining in golden light. Sky counted sixteen of them that were silver and one was gold.
Curious, she took a step forward, reaching out for the gold ring. But before she could touch it, an arm shot out behind her, grabbing the ring. Sky retracted her arm towards her and turned to see Cloud.
"Hehe, sorry for the surprise, but it's pretty dangerous for you to touch 'em." He smiled apologetically.
"In you go," he brought out a small sack, probably made of white silk and a gold rope as its seal and placed in the the gold ring. After a moment, the silver rings followed suite.
"Why... are they like that?" She mumbled, suspiscions raised on him.
Cloud's eyes darted everywhere but Sky.
"I-I'll try to explain everything tomorrow." He mumbled and ran away to the same direction him and Wendy went.
"What makes him think we'll see each other again?" Sky asked herself in an almost inaudible whisper.
:::
Sky couldn't help but feel anxious.
-
The first three periods passed through time just fine, although the boy beside her just couldn't stay still. Whenever the teacher turned his back to the class, he'd make paper origami. Like, cranes, roses, and other geometrical figures. And when he finishes the paper origami, he'd have a childish look on his face
Just describing him makes her seem like an obsessed fangirl.
Sky began to gather all of her things to bring to her locker. She tried to not mind the group of students--mostly girls--flocking around the new student, but her ears refuse to listen under her command.
"Question!" One of the girls perked up. "Why are your eyes silver?"
With that, she slowly raised up her head with 'little' interest.
"Ah, well, let's see... hm." He thought for awhile. "I used to be a mega klutz before that I had an accident that involved some acid." He smiled bashfully.
Then the group started to chatter more.
" So Cloud, do you need anyone to guide you around school?" A boy asked.
First day of school he's already this popular. Even though he looked unusual. Sky rolled her eyes as she stood up and walked towards the door.
"Ms. Windneil, was it?"
Sky tensed up and slowed down her pace towards the door.
"I want her as my guide."
He's probably using this chance to talk about what happened yesterday.
"Eh? She's really silent. She barely interacts with other people on her own."
"Why not choose another one?"
Yes. Choose another one. Sky mused as she held the handle. I don't even want to talk about yesterday.
"Well, I've already made my decision final. So~" He extended the o's until the other students got the idea.
"Aww. Okay then."
"Oh well, I was hoping we can get to know each other more."
And other comments with disappointment were said. Sky was surprised that they weren't bothered by his eyes. When she first came here, people were wierded our at first, but it soon came to pass.
The brunette went out of the room and sighed,
I hope I won't get involved in those ghost shenanigans.
