Looking at the ground, Sky trembled. Her tears making its way through the corner of her eyes. She couldn't help it. Just the scent and the black aura of the devourer lingering around her was around her.

And the devourer was just behind her. Ready to eat her soul anytime.

She eyed the duo in front of her. They were unfamiliar, considering the fact that she had been in this town for so long and she hadn't seen any newcomers for the last two years. They were also looking up, as if they can see the devourer. To be precise, scanning it.

Sky came to the conclusion that they can see the mass of butchered zombie souls.

They weren't fazed by the size nor the appearance of the devourer and they looked as if they're going to kill it.

Her eyes were now glued on the raven-haired boy, who was kind enough to lend his jacket for warmth and shelter her from the rain. She stared at him long enough that the older woman had caught her.

"Alright, Miss brownie, you should go to safety. We'll explain this later." The woman spoke, closing her umbrella, letting the rain fall on her.

"Yeah! We have to to take care of this." The boy said, excitement laced in his voice.

Nodding in agreement, Sky didn't wanna be a a hindrance to their 'business', so she went behind them, opening her umbrella even though she was soaking wet under the rain.

Standing near an unlit streetlight, she watched the woman's umbrella glow a bright white and the boy also took out a glowing thing from... his waist bag?

Sky wondered for a short while since when did he have a waist bag and more importantly,

What are they going to do with those glowing things?

The glowing stuff they had started to lose its form and started to get longer and thinner. And the glow soon faded away to reveal a long blade from the woman and a white pistol from the boy.

.
.
.

Was she dreaming?

Did those things just transform into deadly weapons?

Are they gonna seriously fight that?

Lots of questions roamed in her head as she watched the two split up and jumped up in the air.

Sky mentally smacked herself for gaping at them. She was supposed to run away, but she just couldn't.

--

The rain started pouring harder and the droplets slapped Cloud's face. It was cold. He was soaking wet from the pour, Wendy was too but they were too concentrated on killing the limbo spawn.

Also protecting the brunette, who was currently watching them.

The silver eyed boy grinned, "Wendy, let's give brownie an impression, shall we?" he winked.

The redhead scoffed at him, "She'd probably run away scared if we did. Even if we didn't, she'd still be scared shitless."

"Aw." The boy pouted and let out a whiny noise and concentrated back to the monster.

Before the two had the chance to fall, they angled themselves towards the limbo spawn and gathered up enough force on their feet to kick their way on an invisible aerial platform, in which what they call-'air stepping'-launching themselves towards the monster.

Cloud shifted his legs to take a step on the monster, and leaned forward to point the nuzzle at it's 'forehead' of a distorted face. Time slowed as he began to pull the trigger, white surge of energy started to gather at the entrance.

The white energy pulsated on his arms, and Cloud couldn't help but feel so excited that he cracked up a grin and shot out a bright white bullet and jumped off as the head began to inflate and pop-just like a balloon.

Though, the grin plastered on his face faded away as he continued to shoot other heads.

Meanwhile, Wendy shaved off the heads from the main body coolly, air-stepping whenever she gets off balance. With each removal of the head, the stench gradually lessened and the black aura started to dissipate.

They continued with the removal of the heads until there are only few left.

"No cores yet?" The boy shouted from the other side.

"None!" The redhead shouted back, using the limbo spawn as a step to make her jump higher.

"I'll finish it off." She announced, swinging her blade to her right, holding the handle with the both of her hands, the tip pointing towards the direction her back was facing and shifted her body to be angled towards the limbo spawn.

"In God's name and in the Angels' Contract,"

She began as Cloud landed beside the brunette, the two teens watching the adult and her blade glowing a bright light of white.

"-may you be purified by this holy light shining upon this blade!"

Wendy kicked her way towards the ghost monster, dashing through the air. She swung her blade outwards, slicing the the limbo spawn diagonally downwards in half within a few seconds. Not to mention the droplets of rain had been blown away for a moment until it resumed the normal course of rain.

The massive size of butchered souls inflated in large bumps and popped as it started to disintegrate of fading black smoke.

Wendy stood silently as her blade began to glow white and started to deform. Cloud's pistol did too, and soon returned to the form they had originally-an umbrella for Wendy and water gun for Cloud.

Opening her umbrella, the woman faced the teens. "Are you two alright?"

Cloud brought out a thumbs up and the brunette hesitated before nodding in approval.

"That's great." Wendy sighed in relief before walking towards them. "Let's go, Cloud."

The boy perked up and looked at the girl beside him. "But what about her?"

Wendy eyed her too before walking ahead.

"Don't mind me." The brunette spoke up. "I don't even have anyone to talk about this with."

Cloud hesitated before joining the redhead. Then he smiled.

"Well then, see you tomorrow!" And he ran off, leaving the brunette standing under the streetlight as the rain gradually lessened.

--

Sky looked up, taking out a hand under her umbrella and felt the rain gradually lessen until there were no more raining drops.

She looked up, and saw dark grey clouds splitting up to see the bright sun's rays peeking between the gaps.

"What did he mean... by see you tomorrow?"
