"I guess what they said was true." He walked beside Brownie while fixing his bonnet. They were at the open courtyard behind the second school building.

"What do you mean?" Her voice seemed quiet and it was monotonous.

"You're really quiet."

It took awhile get a response from her.

"Oh."

Cloud blinked. "You're fine with it? They went a bit overboard on describing you."

"Used to it."

He stopped on his tracks, but the brunette continued walking forward. It was his turn to say 'Oh'.

He caught up to her, but awkwardness began to sprout.

"Thanks for the tour." He stretched his arms up.

The tour was pretty short and quick. That's because Brownie here barely explained the places and she only said the names. But Cloud didn't complain. All he needed were the ways and where to go to the place. Plus, it saved him 15 more minutes.

"The atmosphere inside was suffocating. At least this tour was a breather."

"I'm not surprised that you felt it." She shot a glance at him.

"Eh?" Cloud tilted his head questioningly. "Has it been like this lately?"

"It's been months." Brownie fixed her bangs.

"That's not normal." Cloud blinked.

"Obviously. I always thought it was because of the exams. They needed to pass it so they can join the upcoming field trip. I was wrong."

Cloud opened his mouth to talk, but he was cut off by the clanging of metal fences from the roof of nearby building. When they looked up, male student's back was pressed onto it and being what seemed to be another student beating him up. Each hit that was delivered made a black smoke puff out of their bodies.

Then a foul stench had struck by.

"Woah. Maybe it's because a limbo spawn is here?" There was a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

"A what?"

"Limbo Spawn. You know, the black ghost monsters?"

She blinked a couple of times before retorting in her head. That's one lame name.

Setting that aside, the mention of those ghost creatures seemed to make the brunette tense up.

"But there was no foul smell. And I didn't see any black aura either..." She frowned.

"Well that means it's damn good at concealing itself. Probably a high ranking one." Cloud looked up at the spot the boy was slammed onto then at the brunette.

"Let's check it out."

Sky never wanted to come with him. But no, Cloud managed to drag her with him. And now, she's walking behind him, irritation itching her temples.

"I'm pretty sure it's just some angsty fight up there."

"And I'm pretty sure you clearly saw it with your eyes what came out from them."

The black shadows. She noted in her head.

She sighed, accepting the fact that even if she backed out of this, there will be more situations like this that would happen. Ever since she had first received her ability to see ghosts, her life felt like or was placed i

"We better hurry or we'll be late for the next class."

"We still have like, what, 10 more minutes? C'mon, we still have time." Cloud gave her a short glance over his shoulder.

We barely know each other for minutes and he's acting like he's close to me. Sky silently grumbled to herself.

Time soon passed quickly and another long flight of stairs that seemed to what took forever towards the rooftop door for building.

"I'm tired from just walking up the stairs." Cloud mumbled.

"Get used to it." She retorted.

He pouted before twisting the handle of the door to the right to see the two boys fighting and a few students surrounding them--who, eventually tore their eyes off the fight and looked at Cloud.

The raven-haired boy hummed. Amusement was clearly on his eyes. "What are you guys doing here?" He tilted his head questioningly.

Sky stood beside him. "What's going on?" She pressed on further. She had never seen a fight disrupt on school campus.

One of the girls of the group approached the two, pure panic on her face that was splashed with make up.

"Please help..." She pleaded. "We were just hanging out as group of friends... then... then--" she began to tremble. Then a boy came up to the girl, looking at her before looking at Cloud. "They had a small misunderstanding. We were hoping that they'd get over it, but they began to say weird things like souls and stuff--which was very far from the main topic," the guy breathed, "but they began to throw punches at each other."

Cloud eyed their surroundings, an innocent smile plastered on his face. "Okay. We'll take care of this."

Sky's head darted towards Cloud, a look of distraught on her face. What do you mean by 'we'?!

"Just don't tell anyone about this, okay?" He beamed. "Not even the faculty."

That's plain suspicious! She yelled in her mind, cold sweat began to trickle down her back.

The girl nodded, followed by the boy. When Sky looked at the rest of the group, they all looked at each other before dashing out towards the door.

"--out of here."

"--too risky--"

"--be expelled--"

Each one of them had remarks about how this will affect their reputation. They were soon followed by the girl and the boy, leaving Sky and Cloud behind.

As the door shut closed, Cloud began to open his waist bag, taking out his glowing weapon.

"You should stay back for awhile, Brownie." Cloud said, his pistol having a faint glow.

Sky's eyebrow twitched in irritation. She clearly had better things to do than just stand around and watch a person beat the ghosts to death.

Plus, it made her feel a bit useless.

"Why bring me here if you're just gonna do it yourself?"

"Because when they come out, I'll need your eyes to help me see them."

"What do you mean?" Sky frowned at Cloud. He still has his other eye working, so why bother asking other people to see?

"Er, let's say my human eyesight is perfectly fine, but my astral eyesight isn't. You can see ghosts, right?"

Sky crossed her arms. "I get it. But how are you going to take care of this?"

"Duh, shoot them." The raven haired boy looked at her and raised his pistol between them and shook it.
