The waves crashed gently against the rocks that formed Delany's peak. Aside from the sleepless tossing and turning of the waters below, it was a quiet day in Port William. The seaside community seemed almost sleepy, resting on it's usual perch just feet away from the very precipice of Delany's peak. Granted, there were bustling citizens moving between homes and shops, but for the most part, a serene lull had washed over the town. Everyone seemed to feel it, from lifelong residents to newcomers just pulling into the port.

Trevor Gilmore smiled to himself, sliding his hands into his pockets as he felt his shoes clank against the wooden deck that only meant one thing; His journey was over. He'd had a rough go of it, recently, having roamed from port town to port town after escaping from the Metropolis of Gagliardi. He was far from there, however. Well over a continent away, and grateful for the distance. He'd left some loose ends untied back in the continent of Ault, and certainly planned to keep them untied. He breathed in a light sigh of relief, expelling the breath slowly as he felt the spring return to his step and he began to feel the breeze in his dark brown hair that had seemed so foreign stowed away on that boat. His pace quickened as he advanced along the boardwalk, taking in the sights and sounds of his most recent temporary home. He figured he'd stay in town a month or two, find some work, and then get moving again once he was ready. Maybe even return every once in a while if he grew especially partial to it.

Hazel eyes scanned various kinds of stores and what he assumed were homes as he passed. The stores were fairly easy to identify, due to the signs nothing their purpose. The homes, so far as he could tell, resembled condominiums. It was a strange little town, but he liked it thus-far. The quirky architecture did nothing if not accentuate the vibe he'd gotten from the entire community. He dimly wondered if there was anywhere to work in town for someone of his skill-set. He'd done his fair share of odd jobs while on the move, and he liked to consider himself fairly multi-talented.

He glanced around, looking for anything that resembled a help-wanted sign. Nothing. He'd read on the bulletin board in Gagliardi that Port William had plenty of work available, that was why he'd emigrated into the area. It registered as highly unlikely that they had EVERYTHING they might've needed, though having been in the area for a grand total of ten minutes, he had no way of disputing the notion. Finally, he came across what appeared to be an Inn of some sort.

Boomer's Tavern

He took in the name of the establishment, nodding to himself. He couldn't help but wonder who Boomer was; His imagination conjured up the visual of a fairly young man, stocky of frame and resolute of word and deed. Probably either jovial, or just bossy. Either way, a man both deserving and commanding of respect. He advanced forward, deciding to rent a room with the last of his cash for the night and if he couldn't find himself a job within the next couple of days, he decided he'd move along and try his luck somewhere down the line. He pushed his way through the front door, quietly taking stock of the area he found himself walking into. It was rustic-looking, heavy on wood and panelling. The front desk itself was easy to spot, though it was conspicuously unoccupied. Trevor glanced around, uncomfortably. Quiet rooms always made him a tad nervous. Suddenly, he heard a chair scrape somewhere behind the desk. A slight chill shot up his spine. Then, a small girl popped up from behind the desk, resting her arms on the hardwood. He cast his eyes toward her for a moment, taking note of her appearance beyond her small stature. She had straight black hair, tanned skin, and pale blue eyes that almost seemed white.

"Hey there stranger," she chirped out cheerfully, her accent carrying an inflection he couldn't quite place "How're ya doin'?"

Trevor stepped in closer, deciding against having the conversation from across the room. "I'm doing alright" he replied, clearing his throat lightly "Just got into town, now that you mention it."
