"I think I'm in love with you, Travis."
Trevor looked over at Teo, blinking due to the sun. He'd worked with skyships before. He knew what a horrible idea it was to get drunk before he had to go to work. Of course if that was a bad idea, he had to wonder where on the scale of bad to disastrous getting abusively drunk and then sleeping with one's crewmate's sister landed. He sighed, and made his way up the plank, onto the ship he'd called home for a night. He deposited the crate in his arms onto the deck of the ship, and then turned to look at the short, blonde-haired man in the sleeveless t-shirt who'd fallen in step with him. "Did you not hear me tell you I was in love with you, asshole?" Teo demanded, with a laugh.
"I did, the implications were just a nightmare" Trevor replied, with a grin.
"I didn't mean in a 'fuck me' kind of way, you homophobe!" Teo groaned, "I'm just pissed at myself. I didn't even KNOW Jones had a sister and you went and sexed her up all nice-nice. You're breaking new and unheard of ground on pissing Jones off!"
"I don't even remember how it hapened" Trevor answered regretfully, shaking his head.
"Well don't look now," Spanky muttered as he passed them with his own crates "but it looks like she wants seconds."
Teo's blue eyes filled up with a sinister delight, and he embraced Trevor in a one-armed hug. "If you're still kicking around on my birthday" Teo informed him matter-of-factly "you don't have to get me a thing. The endless supply of jokes I can make all trip is literally the greatest present you could ever have gotten me."
Travis nodded, awkwardly returning the hug. He glanced over Teo's shoulder and met Naomi's eyes awkwardly. He excused himself with a pat on the back, and wandered back down the plank, toward the last crate. Naomi veered toward it herself, and plopped down on top. Trevor laughed weakly, but nothing was funny. "I'm gonna need that" he pointed out "Last crate and all."
"So last night was fun, huh?" Naomi asked, grinning broadly.
"I'd agree if I could remember", Trevor replied, awkwardly "I'm still kind of getting everything straight in my head."
"Well," Naomi replied with a sly grin "If you'd like to repeat the performance, I'll be right here when you get back to fill in the blanks."
Trevor stopped and looked at her. "You sure you're not busy guiding wayward travelers to wherever it is they want to go?" he asked, trying to hide his annoyance.
"I only need to do that during the day" Naomi chirped, touching his arm lightly as she spoke "at night, I think I can arrange a different experience if you think..."
Trevor moved away, frustration mounting. "I don't think, actually" he replied sharply "It was a mistake."
Naomi looked at him in surprise, but didn't say anything.
"You lied to me!" Trevor snapped "Just because we had sex, I'm supposed to forget that you spent three days treating helping me out as some kind of stupid game?"
Naomi studied him for a minute, looking worried. "Well..." she thought for a moment "Yeah, that was kind of my assumption."
"You assumed wrong, then" Trevor replied icily "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a..."
Naomi grabbed his collar and kissed him, hard. Though he was dimly aware of a thud, he couldn't exactly be sure and figured he was safe to assume Jones fainted again. His first thought was to pull away, but his instincts made him kiss back. Finally, he managed to pull away from her.
He shot her one more glare then turned around, prepared to leave the last crate behind if she wouldn't get off. "Did that feel like a lie to you?" she asked, a hint of desperation in her voice.
