Eat, Drink and be Merry

Randall was roughly yanked out of the way and replaced by a familiar short, stocky blonde man. "Travis!" he greeted, conversationally "Excuse the stick buried up Jones' ass, his parents hated him as much as everyone else does. Come on in!"

Trevor obliged, figuring it was easier then pointing out that his name wasn't Travis. "Spanky, Brit, get over here!" Theo called out "Travis is here!"

"Who's Travis?" the giant redhead asked, looking up in confusion "I don't know a Travis..."

"Travis!" Theo repeated gleefully "From Boomer's? He crashed on the ship for a night like... a week ago, remember?"

"His name is Tyler, you idiot" Britton groaned, annoyed from a desk in the back of the one-room building "How do you confuse Tyler and Travis?"

"Actually, it's Trevor" Trevor corrected, awkwardly "My name is Trevor."

"I could have told you that, Theodore" Jones replied, smugly.

"How about you go sit in the corner and drink an ice cold glass of shut the fuck up, Jones." Teo snapped back, annoyed.

"Be nice to Jones" Britton sighed, brushing a stray curl away from his eyes "We need him to navigate this trip for us."

"We'd be able to get a more bearable navigator if Ritsarnt would just eat Jones for me" Teo grumbled.

"I don't believe your being raised by primates is something I need to be blamed for, Theodore" Jones replied, snidely "Though I doubt that'll stop you. That tiny primate brain can only process hate and--"

Teo turned to look at the blonde-haired man, and shut him up with a glare. "Jones," he asked the navigator conversationally "Are you trying to tell me that you'd like me to try and set you on fire again? God help me, I will."

That served to quiet Jones down, and he decided instead to sit on a stool in the corner, pouting. "Are you two done with the back-and-forth just yet?" Britton asked, impatiently "We've got to get the new guy up to speed on the job."

"I have the job?" Trevor asked, surprised.

"Of course you do" Britton replied, with a laugh "After the review Ellie gave you, how couldn't you?"

"Review?" Trevor asked, in confusion. Last he'd spoken to Ellie, he'd been convinced she'd deemed him a complete incompetent.

"She said you sailed the skyship for her, and kept her protected while she negotiated with Ritsarnt," Britton explained "so this ought to be a step down for you, though it'll be nice to have you on board. Jones will navigate since seafaring is a little different then the skies but I assume you've got other stuff you can do as well?"

Trevor nodded, suddenly interested. "I'm good for heavy lifting, I've worked in pretty much every field as far as ships go to some extent except the kitchen. Even if I'm not so great, I'm usually a fast learner...." he began, before Britton raised a hand to silence him.

"Enough, enough" he laughed "You don't have to sell me, as far as I'm concerned. I just want to know what my crew thinks."

"I'm okay with it," Spanky replied, with a shrug "He seems alright to me."

"He's Travis!" Teo pointed out, cheerfully "How could I not be okay with that guy on board?"

"How can we trust him?" Jones asked, from his corner "What if he--"

"Jones, I am seriously beginning to consider tossing your scrawny ass overboard once we set sail," Teo informed him through gritted teeth "I would literally rather die at sea then be stuck with you."
