**Kayla POV**
I woke up and noticed Wes wasn't next to me anymore. I knew he had some radio stuff today so I wasn't going to call and bother him. I got up and walked downstairs to get breakfast. I thought I was the only one in the house, but I walked into the kitchen and saw Laraine sitting at the table reading. "Morning honey! How did you sleep?" She said looking up from her book as I walked to sit down next to her. "I slept good, actually." I said honestly. After telling Wes everything yesterday, I feel so much better about myself. I knew Laraine knew about exactly what happened, because I'm sure my mom told her.
"So um, I called the DHR people," "and they gave me basically two living options, I could either go into foster care, or I can um..go live with my dad." Her eyes widened and I could tell she didn't exactly know what to do, but I didn't either. "Well, how long did they give you to make a choice?" she said swallowing and looking down.
"A week."
"Well, you are not living with your dad again. Im not letting that happen. And it would be stupid to go into foster care at 17, when next year you will be an adult. Look, I don't know what I'm going to do, but we will figure something out." I nodded my head and continued to get some breakfast. After I ate, I went back up to Wes's room and looked at my phone. It was 9:30 and I saw that I had a text from Wes.
*Hey baby, sorry I had to leave this morning. Me and the boys had a radio interview. I'll be home around 2 so I'll see you then.*
I decided not to text back, but I didn't really have anything to do today. I don't have to work at my awful job at Justice again until next week. So I decided today I would just chill. I needed to think about all of this that was happening and let it sink in. I crawled back into Wes's bed and just laid there.
**Wes POV**
It was around 1:00 and I was on my way home with Keaton and Drew. I tried to call Kayla but she didn't answer. I still don't know what's going to happen to her. I mean, I am not letting her go to her dads. Never. I just needed to figure something out. "Hey Wes, have you noticed that Kayla seems a lot different than she was when we were little? I mean now she just seems so..quiet." Drew said from the drivers seat. "Yeah, I noticed that too. I she like..okay? I mean I know her mom died, but even before that, she just seems kinda..off.'' Keaton said agreeing with Drew.
"Look she's just had a lot happen to her. Things that I could never imagine living through. She's still the same Kayla." "What happened?" Drew said looking over at me. I knew Kayla trusted me enough to tell me about her past and wouldn't want anyone else to know. "Look It doesn't matter but just try to treat her the same as you used to, and you'll see she's the same Kayla." With that being said, we pulled into the driveway of our house. Drew didn't live there, but he was always over there. We walked into the front door and Keaton and Drew immediately headed to the kitchen. I saw my mom walk out of her room and come towards me. "Hey, go get Kayla. I think we all need to talk about something." She said. I have no clue what's going on but I went upstairs and opened the door to my room. Kayla was laying awake in my bed looking up at the celling. "Babe have you been up her all day?" I said plopping myself down next to her. "Pretty much." She said, not losing eye contact with the celling. "Well my mom said she needs to talk to us, so I came to come get you." I said brushing some hair out of her face.
She got up and we walked downstairs hand in hand.
**Kayla POV**
I have no idea what Laraine needs to talk about. But whatever. We were walking down the stairs and I saw Keaton and Drew sitting on the couch next to Laraine. Wes sat down in a chair and I sat down in his lap as he put his arms around my waist.
"So, Kayla," Laraine started to say.
"I thought about what you told me this morning, about the options you had on where you could live. And I called the DHR to find out some more information about the options. They did say, that you could move in with any family friend you have, as long as they are over 18. Until next year, when you can live on your own. So, if it is okay with you and the boys, I wanted to let you know you can stay here, with us, until you get your own place."
Wes patted my waist and Keaton and Drew looked over at me with excited faces. "So, does this mean I don't have to live with my dad?" I said with a smile creeping onto my face. "Of course it does! And you don't have to go into foster care!" "Then moving in sounds really awesome." I said looking her straight in the eyes.
I cant believe this was all working out. I didn't have to live with my dad, I could live in this huge house on the beach, with my boyfriend. And the rest of my..family.
Okay this chapter is really cute in my opinion. Sorry I didn't update for like a week. I was on vacation! But I will be updating again sometime this week. So yay! I hope you guys like this! Vote and give me feedback! I LOVE YOU ALLLLL
