F/N - Friend's name
***********************************
I walked out the hallway after gym class, I saw the walls covered in posters.

Then one of them caught my eye.

We have a school dance. Tomorrow night.
I elbowed my friend who was walking beside me.
"Hey, check it out. We have a school dance tomorrow."
"Really?" She faced the poster.
"Yeah, should we go?"
"Yeah sure, I gotta ask my parents first."

Later...
I caught up to my brother.
"Hey B/N! Did you see? We have a dance tomorrow, wanna go? F/N's going."
"Nah, I'd rather stay at home." He said, putting his books in his locker.
"What? Why? You liked the last one didn't you?"
"Yeah, but there's no reason to go," he closed his locker. "Anyways, I have to go to Robotics." He said walking past me.
"Oh come on!" I raised my hands, letting them fall back to my side.

After school...
I got off the bus and walked back home.
My phone buzzed.
It was C/N.
"Hey" he texted
"Hey, did you see we have a dance tomorrow? Are you going?"
"Yeah I saw, I probably am. You?"
"Yeah, F/N is going with me, but B/N doesn't wanna go"
"Oh, why?"
"I don't know he said he'd rather stay at home"
"Awww sounds like him 😆"
"😆"

"Mom, can I go to the dance tomorrow?" I asked my mom.
"You can't, I have work tomorrow night."
I groaned.
Seriously?

"Well, looks like I can't go tomorrow 😞" I texted
"Aww, why?"
"My mom has work that night, I won't have a ride."
"You could ride with me, we could pick you up."
I smiled.
Me, alone with C/N? 😍
"Really?"
"Yeah, just tell me when I'll pick you up."

"Mom! What if someone drives me to the dance and back?" I asked my mom.
"I guess that would be fine. Who'll drive you?"
"C/N's parents."
"Okay. Just be nice."
"Okay."

Then F/N texted.
"Hey, I'm sorry Y/N but my parents said I can't go 😕"
"So I'm gonna be alone with C/N?!"
"Wait, you're going with him? 😏"
"Yeah, but not that way, he said he'd pick me up because I had no ride."
"I mean it would be good, you like him don't you?"
"Yeah, but I'm scared it would be awkward."
"Don't overthink it. You'll be fine."
"I hope so."

Then I texted C/N
"Sooo I guess F/N's not going."
"Why so many cancellations? 😆"
"I don't known her parents won't let her."
"Oh"
"So if I go, it would only be me and you."
"We could still have fun without them 😆"
"Yeah 😆"

Tomorrow...
The doorbell rang.
I answered it.
"Hey!" I smiled.
"You ready?" C/N smiled.
"Yeah." I closed the door behind me and followed him to his car.
He opened the door to let me in.
"Hi!" His mother smiled.
"Hi!" I replied and sat down.
C/N got in and closed the door.
"Nice to meet you Y/N" his mother spoke again.
"You too, thanks for picking me up."
"No worries." She started driving.

"C/N you got a nice friend here." She smiled at him while looking at the mirror and raised her eyebrows.
He chuckled.
I started turning red.
"She's pretty."
"Yeah." He said quietly.
All I could do is chuckle.

His younger brothers were in the back and were whispering a little too loud.
One of them leaned over to C/N.
"Is she the girl?" He asked.
"What?" He asked quietly.
I looked at him, my eyebrows raised, smiling.
His other brother joined in.
"You know the one you keep talking about?" He asked.
He turned red.
"Shut up." He whispered to them and they started laughing.
"They're crazy, don't listen to them." He told me, and I laughed.

We arrived at the dance.

Later...
Through the blaring music, C/N asked me something.

I couldn't hear it.
"What?" I said going closer.
"Want any snacks?"
"Yeah, buy me a Pepsi, hear me? A Pepsi." I handed him money.
He smiled, shook his head and took my money.
"You're evil. Coke's better." And he went to buy my drink.
He returned and we stayed together.
"Hey, C/N what are doing here with Y/N?" One of my classmates came over and asked.
A couple of them came over too.
"What? Is she your girlfriend or something?"
"You never told me you were dating."
My classmates pressured him.
I chuckled while he tried to explain, adorably.
He turned red and started stuttering.

Later...
The last song was playing and we soon went outside.
The thing is, I lost C/N.

He soon found me.
"I thought you were outside already." He laughed.
"Come on, hold my hand. We can't afford to keep losing each other." He chuckled.
I took his hand and walked outside.
My classmates were looking and smiling.

"There she is." C/N pointed out his mom's car and we went towards it.

"How was the dance, guys?" His mother asked.
"It was fun." We said at the same time.
"Did you slow dance with her?" One of his brothers asked, I smiled.
"Do you ever shut up?" C/N chuckled.
"Man, I love your brothers." I chuckled.
"Well, she's certainly nicer than you." His brother said, looking at him.
I chuckled.
"Yeah, whatever." He chuckled.

We soon arrived at my house.
C/N got off and opened the door for me, he took my hand and helped me down.
"Thank you again!" I smiled at his mom.
"You're welcome." She smiled back.
"Bye, Y/N!" His brothers smiled.
I chuckled. "Bye!"

He walked me to my door.
I got my key and opened the door.
"Wanna say hi?" I asked him.
"Yeah."

We both walked in.
"I'm back!!" I shouted.
They ran to the front.
"Hey man." C/N smiled.
"Hey, did you guys slow dance?" My brother smiled.
I chuckled "No."
"Anyways, I gotta go, my moms waiting." C/N said.
"Oh but before you leave I need to tell you something." I pulled him outside.

This is it. I had to make sure his mom and his brothers couldn't see, so we stood in the corner.

"What did you want to tell me?" He asked.
I paused for a second and hugged him.
He hugged back.
"I had fun." I said.
"I did too." He chuckled.
"I'm on my tip toes right now, you know?" I laughed.
"Yes I know, shorty." He laughed.
"Shut up." I chuckled.
I pulled back.

"I'm so happy, I feel like I could kiss you." I laughed.
He smiled.
"I'll happily take on that offer."
I smiled.
I put my hands on his chest, leaned forward and we kissed.
