Alexandra's point of view

"I let you get away with thinking you're the cure," I sang along to my phone as I fixed my eyeliner. "I think I'm in too deep it's time to pull the cord."

After I got the wings the same size, after a hundred times, I put one some mascara. "I won't settle, settle, settle, you're not gonna hold me down." I sang into the tube of mascara.

I laughed and then batted my eyes a bit. I had already put my contacts in, so I could see just fine. I just needed to make sure my make-up was fine.

I smiled and then straightened the cord necklace on my neck so it was a bit looser. I left the bathroom and then grabbed my bag, already having my school supplies inside of it.

I pushed my bandana up a bit so it looked like a headband and then I plugged some earbuds into my phone. I put them in and then went downstairs to see Ashton awake, drinking coffee and scrolling through his phone.

"Hi," I said and sat down on the couch. He looked at me and smiled, setting his mug down. "What's up?"

"Waiting for you to tell me you're ready so I can take you to school, then go back to sleep." He told me and I laughed. "Ready?"

"Yep." I said and stood up. I fixed my bag over my shoulder

-

I looked around the class nervously, they were working on some project and I couldn't do it because I didn't know what it was about. The teacher told me to sit here and do something useful, but what did she claim to be useful?

I sighed and then put my head down, tired and bored because we weren't allowed to use our phones in here. I felt a tap on my shoulder and I looked up, seeing a boy with curly black hair.

"Hey," he said and I gave him a smile. "You're new here right? Like new to this school?"

"Yeah," I said and nodded. "Can you help me figure out what to do?" I asked him and he nodded as he threw his bag on top of the counter.

"Use your phone." He said and hid it behind his bag. I looked around a bit and then pulled my own phone out, hiding it behind his bag.

I went on to my instagram and he chuckled, showing me some video of two girls dancing, but then failing. I laughed quietly and then asked him what his instagram account was.

I followed him quickly and then pushed him a bit, whining quietly. "Follow me back." I said and he nodded, doing as I said.

"Shouldn't you be doing your project?" I asked and he nodded. "Why aren't you?"

"I don't want to."

"Fair enough." I said and nodded, exiting out of Instagram and going on kik. "Do you know where portable one hundred is?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Yeah, I go to the one next over next period. I'll walk you." He said and I thanked him. "No problem." He said and I looked at the teacher, who was walking over.

I hid my phone quickly when a student asked for help and then grabbed my pencil, immediately making it look like I've been drawing the entire time.

"Jaylen, put that phone a-"

"That's not my name," he said and looked at the teacher. "It's Jay." He said and the teacher huffed.

"Jay, put that phone away and do your work. Alexandra just got here and she's already working on something." He said and I held up my paper.

"I'm drawing." I said and he nodded, looking back at Jay. He put his phone away and pulled a pencil out, scribbling words down until the teacher left us alone.
