As Ezra slept in the hospital bed, the surgeon removed his stitches and hooked up to an iv tube, when he left Ezra woke up and he wanted see if Kannan was right that his scar was small but it wasn't because the scar went from the beginning of his chest all the way to at least 3 inches past his belly button which made him faint. When Kannan came into Ezra's room when he was still asleep when Kannan saw that Ezra's shirt was off he saw that his padawans scar was bigger than he expected and it was infected, which is why the surgeon told him to leave so they can tend to the infected scar.
