|| Your POV ||

"Okay class make sure you have all of your projects in by next week-" my teacher was cut off by the final bell and I happily sighed and scrambled out the class.

   I met up with y/f/n in the hall and we walked to our lockers. We went to her locker first and as she was getting her backpack and books my eyes wandered around the hallways, I caught a certain football uniform with big bold letters saying WHEELER and number 22 on the back. That jersey belonged to my best friend and very very big crush, Brayden Wheeler.

   Of course it had to be like one of those cliché movie standards. He was the extremely attractive, nerdy, and adorable football type and I was just his sidelines best friend. He may not be the captain, which he should be in all honesty, but he was still the best player on our team and district.

   We had a tradition, after every game we would go out for ice cream and hang out at the lookout for hours. He would always say I was his number 1 fan but he promised he'd always be mine. I guess that was the side that the popular groups never saw. He wasn't just a football player but also a hardcore gamer, and he was really just a goofy nerd inside. Everyone thinks that if you're on the football team then you have to be popular, and hot and whatever bullshit those movies say, but he wasn't like that. He was always pulled away from our group for the popular one which was hard but I mean what are you gonna do?

"Hello! Earth to y/n?" Y/f/n snapped, then laughing afterwards.

"Sorry, I was distracted-I mean I was thinking!" I quickly scrambled. Shit.

"Look I know you have a major crush on him, and I mean you guys are best friends so I think you have a pretty good shot. And by the way he looks at you I think he might like you too."

"Okay first of all, no he doesn't nor will he ever like me. And two just because we're best friends doesn't mean I have as good as a shot as all the popular girls that love him..." I clutched my binder and leaned against the lockers.

"Y/n you know Brayden, you know he doesn't go for the plastic, fake, two faced cheerleaders? He goes for a nice, funny and real girl like you. He doesn't want a high maintenance Barbie doll, he wants a girl who isn't afraid to pig out and play video games with him." We both laughed because we both kinda knew that it was true.

"When did you become a physiatrist?" We laughed again and then we headed to my locker.

   I looked over my shoulder and saw Brayden looking at me then look away when our eyes met. I decided to not being it up, I mean it was nothing.

   We got to my locker and I did my combination and opened it. I looked at my locker and smiled at the all the sticky notes that Mitch, y/f/n and Brayden put when they 'vandalized' my locker. The sticky note Brayden put said;

   Brayden Wheeler is the best football player ever!

   I smiled at the memory but continued to grab my stuff. I looked over and saw y/f/n wasn't there anymore, I saw she was talking with her crush at their locker a few down from mine. She was talking to none other than Mitch.  After putting my binder on my shelf I heard heavy footsteps behind me.

"Brayden Wheeler is the best football player ever! Aw thanks y/n that's so sweet of you to say, and put in your locker for everyone to see, you're so nice." I giggled but didn't respond, I hummed in response and kept putting my stuff away.

"Ah, giving me the silent treatment again eh? You know after all I've done for you this is how you repay me?" He said jokingly and laughing through the middle of his own joke.
