"Okay Dad, bye, see you later." He waves goodbye to me as the edges of his eyes crinkle with a smile. "Love you too, sweetie, bye Jason." During the ride I get to hear about Jason's life and the girls he wishes to see at the party. Finally we arrive, a bunch of cars are parked on the side of the road. Goodness, there's a lot of people. The party lasts until three. After a while people begin to leave until it's only Jason, Crystal, Cassandra and I. Jason falls asleep quickly on the couch, and the rest of us sleep on the floor, what a gentleman. It seems only minutes have passed when I wake up. I hear laughter in the kitchen, the smell of eggs and bacon surround me. I walk out to the kitchen, Jason is eating like pig, toast crumbs spraying from his mouth as he blabs to Cassy. I look at the clock and it's 12:30 PM.

I guide Jason toward the door and run to the table and grab a piece of bacon. We both quickly get in my truck as he stuffs the omelet in his mouth, making him look like a child again. I grin.

We're about to turn into my driveway, when I see police officers at my house. Bright yellow tape was enveloped around the house. What happened?

Jason and I meet eyes and he looks scared, and very confused. A police officer in front of me, puts his hands up, telling us to stop

"Stay here," I say when I see Jason reaching for the door handle. I jump out of the truck and a police officer comes to my side.

"What happened!?" I blurt out as I slam the truck's door.

"Miss, what's your name?"

"Evalen Hayes" I say quickly as I feel a panic attack coming on .

"Where were you last night, Miss.May?"

"My brother and I were at my friend's house all night, wh-why?

"Okay." he says, writing it down on his pad. I lose my patience and rudely push the police out of my way. He stumbles back and he shouts, "Stop her!" I sprint toward the house as police officers are shouting and I quickly lock the door behind me and look around my empty house. There's nothing to see. I run up the stairs as the police are banging at the door. I get to my parents room, and the door is already cracked open. I push it open and freeze at the lurid scene. My heart stops beating as my knees buckle beneath me.I stare at the blood, it's splattered on the walls and on the white bed sheets. I can't breathe as my mind goes blank. I slowly walk to the puddle of blood near the bed and hold my breath, waiting to see their lifeless bodies. Laying there, their eyes gray as the moon, their faces struck with terror. There's nothing though. I can't hear anything but my heart beats. I fall to my knees as if my bones have been broken, my hands fall into some blood as ice darts through my veins, the smell makes me dizzy as my surroundings become a blur. I sit on my knees, crying into my elbows. Then I hear the front door open, Jason's footsteps coming near.

"Don't let Jason in here!" I screech. But It's too late, he runs in, his eyes darting this way and that with dismay. He looks around the room from the blood splatters on the walls, to the bed, then to me. Jason sputters out a whimper and the sound makes my heart shatter. I get up slowly, scared I might break apart at any moment. I pull him to me as I clutch his shirt for support and cry on his shoulders. A little later after Jason had calmed down they asked question after question. Jason answered in hiccups, more sadness building up in him, for me, frustration was the only thing rising. "We don't have any fingerprints or DNA, anything. We think maybe this person may be a highly trained assassin, they left no evidence behind." I shake my head in frustration. I feel a hand on my arm and see there's short women there. "Miss we're sorry but we need you to leave, you may be in danger as well."

Hesitantly I follow her, taking Jason hands on the way.

Jason and I stay at our Aunt and Uncles' that night. There's a big storm raging outside my window. The trees swaying back and forth to the rains gentle rhythm, calming me. As if someone switched off my brain, I fall asleep. I stand in the middle of a dark room, then I hear Jason's cries, breaking the silence. I hear it from every corner, groping around, I touch something cold. I suddenly flinch back from the broken mirror, and see a girl with eyes as empty as a church on weekdays, arms slashed with scars and blotched with bruises. Then she lunges at me, breaking the mirror, as the shreds tear at my face. I wake up in a gasp and glance at the mirror in the room, expecting her to be there. I breathe out in relief and walk over to Jason's bed, my thumbs on my temples. I see his face, eyes puffy and cheeks chalked with dried tears. "I'm so sorry." I whisper, sitting on the side of the bead.I wrap my arms around his neck, waiting for the sound of breathing to come but he's so still, too still. I set my hands on his chest, waiting for it rise. but nothing happens. My heart begins racing.

"NO!" I shout. "Jason. No! Please, please. Wake up!" I cry aloud.

My aunt and Uncle run to my side. "Wake him up! Wake him up!" I shout. Tears running down my cheeks as I stare at his lifeless face, his face white as snow, he can't be dead. He can't be. I stalk out the room, full of rage.

"I'm going to find this son a- urg!"

" Honey, please-" and the front door slams.
