I Will Never Let You Go

Where am I? I sit up from a bed that definitely was not mine.

Oh yeah that's right. I'm with the guy in the Kabuki mask.

My family! I need to save them!

I quickly get out of the bed and exit the room. I enter a long dark hallway.

Maybe they're in one of these doors.

I open the door closest to me and look inside. No one there. It's just an empty room.

I check 30 more doors until I give up. It's like there's no end to this hallway!

This is going to take forever! Maybe I need to just save this day to figure out
where everything is. The entrances and exits. Where Kabuki Mask is staying and get the slightest clue on where my family is.

I walk back to my room and sit back on the bed. A few seconds later Kabuki Mask comes in.

"Did you have a good sleep?"

"Yes."

"Well come now. It's time for your breakfast." He exists the room.

I stand and follow him.

"How do we get into the dining hall?" I ask him. This hallway goes on forever!

He presses on the wall and a scanner comes out and scans his mask.

Then all of a sudden the walls disappear around me.

"I left an illusion just in case you wanted to escape."

I sigh. There's no way I'll be able to escape with my family now!

I sit down at a long table in front of me. There is food everywhere and it looks delicious.

But.

I don't feel like eating.

"What would you like for your wedding gift?" He asks out of the blue. "Your limit is three."

This is my chance!

"If it's not too much trouble. I would like a few things."

He sits back and listens.

"F-First of all" Why am I stuttering? "I would like you to free my family."

"Done."

Wow that was fast.

"Second" I take a breath. "I would like for you to take off your mask whenever your with me." If I could get my hands on his mask I might be able to escape.

He unbuckles the mask, takes it off, and places it on the table. I finally get to see his face. He wasn't what I expected at all.

He was.. Maybe 3 or 4 years older than me. With a huge scar on the left side of his cheek. He had black hair and brown eyes.

Those eyes. They look so sad. So familiar. Maybe because I had them once too.

He probably noticed I was staring too long and broke the silence.

"And your last request."

I sit up and prepare to speak. This one request. Is just because I'm curious.

"What is your name?"

His eyes widen. Probably surprised because of my last request.

"I don't want to have to keep calling you 'Kabuki Mask'."

He chuckles and smiles. "I don't have one. But you can call me whatever you want."

Whatever I want huh...

"How about Kai?"

"Why Kai?"

Why did I choose Kai?

"I dunno. You just look like a Kai."

He chuckles again. "Alright."

I sit back again and try to eat.

Hiro. I miss you. I probably can't save myself. So please. Come and get me. I want to see you again.

I sigh as I eat the tasteless food.
