Maserati Kitty

Maserati is this little tuxedo kitten at the clinic I work at; with these beautiful bright green-yellow eyes.  He came in when he was about 5-weeks-old; he was dropped off by someone who had found and dropped off to us.  He was found caught in the fan belt of a car's engine; I don't know much other then that but I know the car much have been turned on.  Because, his left front arm had been severed; the break of the bone that was left wasn't clean cut; but instead was a "shark bite break".  (A break where the soft tissue and mussel look taken out in chunks; and the bone has several pointed jagged places.)

He was brought in, his wound was cleaned and wrapped with VetWrap, as a quick ban-aid type wrap.  This was to slow bleeding the bleeding and prevent anymore bacteria from entering the open wound.  By this time this cute little guy had been given the nickname "Fanbelt" by the veterinary staff; Fanbelt was given an IV catheter in his right leg, and was then place in a dark quite cage; with tons of soft blankets and a bed.  The IV catheter was hooked up to an IV line, IV bag and an IV pump; which pumps an amount of IV fluids and any medication given IV into the sick animal over a period of time.

Fanbelt was placed on fluids throughout the day; to rehydrate him from the summer sun.  He was then put under anastisa and prepped for surgery.  His eyes were lobed, nails clipped, ears cleaned, the hair on his injered leg was compleatly clipped all around the leg; and up to his shoulder, and scrubed for surgery.  Dr. J removed his whole leg and his whole shoulder; as the leg couldn't be save.  Fanbelt made a great recovery and adjusted to his new life on three legs; but soon after all the kittens at the clinic came down with a case of ringworm.

But, the ringworm was cleared up and no time and now he is up for adoption at the vet clinic.  And, he has captured the heart of one of the techs at the clinic; yours truly.  I have fallen for this little guy and have even given the name Maserati or "Mozzy"; due to how he ended up at the hospital.  Could my little chihuahua Carmen have a brother soon?  Who knows?  More later.
