Reed's P.O.V.
She falls asleep in my arms on the way back to the bus. She took everything I told her today really well. I was surprised but at the same time, overjoyed. There's only one thing I will ever need and that is this beautiful girl in my arms.
I tuck the loose strands of hair falling out of her braid behind her ears.
Thinking back to the night I smile. She picked the grey wolf at the ring toss game. I could lie and say it wouldn't have bothered me if she chose the dolphin or something but it would have.
I bite back a growl.
'She wouldn't have, she was drawn to the wolf.' Sawyer mutters, jealous at the mere thought of her picking anyone but him.
I chuckle and hug the sleeping beauty closer to me, absorbing all of her scent that I can. She sighs in content and snuggles closer to me, mumbling something in her sleep. She's so tiny, I'll have to remind myself to make her eat something when we get back.
We walk, well I walk, for about five more minutes with her curled into my chest. She's clad in one of my hoodies to fight off the cold. It looks better on her than it ever would on me.
Pushing open the door, I notice the boys are nowhere to be seen. I set her down on the couch and start walking away, every intention of a shower on my mind.
Well, that is until she stirs in her sleep and murmurs my name.
Just a few minutes.
Relenting to myself, I lift her into my arms and relax onto the couch, closing my eyes. The silence welcomes sleep and soon I'm yawning and pulling Anna further onto my chest. I kiss her forehead, seconds from sleep...
Buzzz
Buzzzzzz
Buzzzzzzzzz-
"I swear to god Alex this had better be important." I seethe into the phone.
I quickly scribble a note and leave it for Anna in case she wakes up. This had better not be nothing. I step out into the cool Detroit night, softly closing the door behind me.
"Reed," I growl at the sound of my name, "sir, it's news from the committee."
I tense up. If it's from the werewolf committee it's important. They don't get worked up about much. But what could be so urgent that my beta called me at twelve in the morning?
The question falls out of my lips before I can stop it.
"Well, I did some research like you asked. Apparently the committee suspended a the Alpha of the Red Woods pack earlier this year. You-" He cuts himself off.
"I what?" I question threateningly into the phone.
"You... I... Sir... You might not want to here this, sir."
The hell I don't! If this has anything to do with Anna then I want to know. Especially if it concerns her well being.
"Spit it out Alex!"
"Alright," he sighs, "well, about five months ago I heard about this guy. His name was Aaron. Aaron Saxz."
Saxz...
Anna's last name?
"What about him?" I ground out.
"Well, according to the committee, he's been kicked out of his pack for abuse. I... Um... I asked around..."
My blood runs cold and then instantly boils. I don't even need to ask what he's about to say. I can feel my eyes darken at the implied statement.
"Reed, he's the one who's been hurting Anna."
