Since I had literally nothing to do I went to the Family Dollar to get a new stuffy. Yes, I know, 14 is a little old for stuffed animals but their cute and cuddly and irresistible. I somehow found myself on the back isle (toiletries) when I heard a howling noise outside. I looked around the corner and saw a Hispanic Christmas elf run through the door. I gasped. It was Mr.McShizzle himself, LEO. VALDEZ. I may have a teeny weeny crush on him. Before I could confront him a black Labrador the size of a grizzly bear ran in after him. I grabbed a shower rod and rushed toward Leo. "Hey, your Mary Scarlett, right?" He said trying to fend off what I assumed to be a hellhound. In his attempt he enflamed an Oreo's display. "Yeah, are you taking me to camp?" All I got was a nod because I thought it was a good idea to stab the hellhound in the butt causing him to rear up almost kicking Leo in the face. I realized that everyone had fled the store. After telling Leo this we both hit the giant beast in the eyes and ran for the doors. Leo welded the door shut and we ran for the nearest patch of trees. I followed him watching his curly brown hair. Finally, we reached a clearing. Sitting there was a a bronze dragon I knew was none other than Festus. We got on and in a couple hours reached Long Island.
It was nice riding with Leo. Not because I was on a dragon, or with Leo Valdez on my way to Camp Half-Blood but because I realized we have a lot in common. We're both sarcastic, funny, bright, but have something sad to hide beneath. I feel as if Leo changed after the end of the book. I don't think he's still with Calypso. I was jumping off Festus before he touched the ground. I recognized the hill we were at. It was Half-Blood Hill. Before we get to detailed, let me explain something. Leo said me, Angel, and Jessica were test half bloods in a project. When Percy appeared his adventures were documented by a scribe named Rick Riordan. The books were meant to prepare us for being demigods. Leo catched up to me at the entrance to camp. I saw the cabins, the big house, the arena. I still couldn't believe it. Leo began to say "Mary, YOU. ARE. A..." He said it like a game show announcer. At "A" I walked across the border and Leo screamed "DEMIGOD!" Ahead I saw Jesse and Angel. They said they just arrived and they were about to go on a tour. Me and Leo joined them.
