Violettas pov
I squeezed my eyes shut and bit down on my jolly rancher. Pain shot through my ears as the plane came to a steady halt. It was my first time away from Buenos Aires, and frankly so far I wasn't liking it. The food was terrible, the plane ride made my cry, and the passengers near me were rude and annoying as hell. But it was almost over. 2 more minutes come on I encouraged myself.
"Thank you for riding, Aires Airways. Have a safe trip. Come again." The captain said as everyone around me begin taking their backpacks. I only had one bag so I took it as quick as I could and darted out the doors. As I made my way through the doors I thought about my new school. That's right I moved here. Alone. I got accepted to an abroad college in New York City. Man oh man was I excited. I left my family to live with my best friend Jenny and her family. Sure this would bring new opportunities but frankly other the the fact that I was sinking in my own happiness, I was also drowning in stress. What if I made no fr-
"Pardon?" I politely asked as a young boy bumped into me.
"S-damn. I mean uh sorry yo. You don't seem from around here, hi I'm Charlie."
"Uh yea I'm not. Hi I'm Violetta."
"Oh Jenny's friend? Unless your not then never mind. Ignore that last part. Wait no don't. Uh hi?" The sort of cute guy named Charlie rambled as he looked down at his toes.
"Yea? You know her?" I giggled.
Giggled really Violetta. I rolled my eyes at my tone and heard him chuckle a little bit.
Great I already made a fool out of myself. Well this is going great. Just great.
"Hi. I came to get you. Jenny couldn't make it today." He said his voice drowning out every noise in the airport.
"Oh okay." I said trying to sound like a normal teenager.
Don't worry I am.
He smiled at me as his white teerth shimmered. I was going to be stuck with him. Maybe this wasn't so bad after all.
He looked at me and but his lip, without a word he grabbed my bag and headed outside. I tried to keep up with him especially because I didn't want to get lost on my first day here. That would be a disaster. I smiled and quickly scurried out the doors into the pitch black New York night. The lights on the buildings have my hope and he lead me to a red mustang.
