A/N: Okay so this is my first gxg story so if it's bad...sorry, I did warn you though. The picture above is Thorny. The video is "Ana's Song (Open Fire)" by Silverchair. Please listen to it. It's about Anorexia, which is what Thorny has, on top of bulimia.
I know
My waist isn't small
My legs are too big
My hair is a mess
My mind is a wreck
I'm covered in scars
And open wounds
I'm just sorry
I couldn't be
What you wanted
Me to be.Thorny Kleven's P.O.V.
"Thorny, please. Open this door. You need to drink. I know you're thirsty, I know your fangs are out. I got you bagged blood, so you wont have to hurt anyone," my sire, Eve Teigland says firmly, trying to be strong. "Thorny, I swear to god I will break this door down."
She can't, she specially designed this room so no one could break in, even her. Good, I don't want to see her. She's what did this to me, stopped my heart, turned me into a monster. She claims she loves me. How could you do this to someone you love?
I'm never leaving this room, hell I'm never leaving the window seat I'm on. That's all I do, day in, day out. I sit here, watching, listening. I still can't believe how far I can hear. I can hear a water fall 60 miles from here, children laughing, splashing in the water...that's another thing she took from me. Children...I can't have children. At least I don't think I can. How could something lifeless make life? It can't, that's how.
All I've ever wanted was to be a mother. I didn't care with who, or how I got it. At least that's all I ever used to want. Now I can't go half an hour without thinking about blood.
God, I want it so bad. My fangs ache every time I think about it. I can't though. I'm hoping that since I've never had blood, I'll just kind of shrivel up and die. Eve always tells me I need to drink from her, something about sealing the bond, I don't know, but I know I will never drink from anyone. Even if they were the person that did this to me...no one deserves that.
I may have only been turned a few months ago, but it feels like years. The first time I refused to let her in, shortly after I woke up after she changed me, she brought live humans up to the door, hoping it would entice me enough to let her in. It never worked. Then she started talking about how if we didn't seal the bond before I was a year old, I'd die. Though she really only convinced me to stay in here, hoping I could last a year before my instincts kicked in. So far they haven't.
I hear Eve sigh and slide down the door. She starts crying then, banging her head against the door. "If you would only let me in, I could coax you into feeding off me. It won't hurt me, I promise. Please just let me feed you. It's almost been a year, you need to come to terms with what you are, and soon." She sighs, standing before I hear her start pacing. "I need to tell you something...I'm holding a meeting tonight. All the Master Vampires are coming. Daywalkers can only have Master mates...because of their DNA. If one of them is your mate, they will be able to break down this door. Masters are strong enough. They'll have to come live here, so they could watch you, help you. And after you're old enough to leave me...you'll go live with them, but not until you feed from me. We'll be here for you, to help you, feed you, nurse you back to health. Get that spark of life back in those beautiful lilac eyes I saw, when I first met you. I'm going now. I'll be back with your mate."
And with that she leaves me. Alone with my window and the children. It's getting dark, they'll be going home soon, and then I'll be truly alone.
Andora's P.O.V.
When Eve called me, I was a little surprised. I hadn't even been aware that she had found another person her inner demon was willing to change. Apparently Eve's been having trouble getting her second creation to even seal the bond. Says she's locked herself in her room, and hasn't even moved from her spot. I can't imagine what it must be like for Eve. Her demon screaming at her to help their creation, and her not being a Master Vampire, she isn't strong enough to break down the door. She's been powerless for 11 and a half months.
My driver pulls up out front of Eve's place. I thank him and ask him to return when I call him. I knock on her door and she opens it, blotches all over her face and you could tell she's been crying.
"Andora!" She exclaims, throwing her arms around me. We hug and greet each other before she leads me to the living room, where everyone is. Apparently I was the last one to show up, but I had work today that went longer than expected.
She fiddles with her hands for a bit before clearing her throat. "Thanks for coming everyone. I don't have anything for you guys to smell that's from after her change, but you guys should still be able to tell if it's her."
She grabs a shirt from a box in the corner of the room and hands it to the guys first. When none of them are her mate, it's the girls' turn. They each smell it and then it comes to me. Once the shirt is within a foot of me, I can smell her. It's faint, but God it's delicious. Honey, and fresh cut grass, and what the earth smells like after it rains.
I look at Eve and nod my head, she sighs, relieved someone could help her baby. She dismisses everyone else before leading me to the door. I quickly kick it in, eager to see my beloved.
I stop short, my breath catching in my throat. She's all bones jutting out from beneath a baggy tank top and shorts that you could fit three of her legs in each pant leg. Eve sobs next to me. "Those fit her when she got here," she whispers before going over to my beloved. I see my beloved gulp, when she sees Eve. Eve's being as careful as possible, but it seems my mate's completely terrified of Eve.
Eve joins her on the window seat, cooing soft words of encouragement. I signal to Eve I'm leaving to give them space and head down to the kitchen. I sit at the center island, hoping my mate's first feeding goes well, that Eve won't have to use force. I look down at my trembling hands and think, how did I get so lucky that my best friend's creation is my beloved.
