A/N: Andora's picture. The song is "Ana & Mia" by The Trews
I've had many addictions
And they all came in different colors:
Blacked out drunk,
Crimson red flowing off my wrist,
Dark blue clouded by depression.
And who could forget
The rainbow swirls of bipolar?
But worst of all
Was when I saw no color at all
Through the eyes of a shell of me
Drugged up to forget the past.
Andora's P.O.V.
I'm brought to consciousness by the whimpering of my beloved, and a firm hand on my shoulder. I bolt up, expecting danger, startling Thorny awake in the process. She opens her entrancing violet eyes and pushes herself up. She sees Eve and the tears gather in her eyes. She bolts to Eve, almost falling, but Eve catches her, holding the fragile creature up.
"Shhh, I'm fine. You didn't hurt me. It's OK...you don't need to be sorry, I coaxed you into it. Relax, Thorny. Look at me...I'm fine. It had to be done, honey," Eve tries to soothe her. Thorny just sobs into her chest, whimpering.
She's hungry again, I can feel it. I want her to feed from me, though I wouldn't stop her if she felt more comfortable feeding off her maker. Many newborn Vampires will only drink what their makers give them, it's a comfort thing.
"Darling, can you go with Andora for a little bit?" Eve asks, pointing to me, showing Thorny that she trusts me enough to be alone with her newborn. Thorny sniffles, nodding her head reluctantly. Red streaks running down her face, vampire tears are made of blood. I stand, towering over the tiny creature. She gulps, looking up at me.
"Are you hungry?" I question. She shakes her head, though her ever present fangs give a different impression. Looking at Eve, she nods, giving me permission to feed her.
I scoop Thorny into my arms and smile as she relaxes against my warmth. I take my leave and head to my new room. Walking in, I know she had it specially designed for me, though there are subtle hints of blue in the sea of black. That must be for Thorny, I think, settling her on my lap on the bed. She's facing me and innocently looks at my neck before blushing and looking away.
I angle my head away, giving her more access. She shakes her head and tries to get away from me. I flip us around, pressing her to the bed underneath me. I use more force than I really need to, letting her know I'm the dominant. Instincts kick in and she's bowing her head in submission. A deep growl leaves my throat, dripping with appreciation.
I start coaxing her, lowering my neck down to her. She tries pushing me away, but I quickly cage her wrists in my hands above her head. She whimpers, knowing she's already lost.
"Come on, baby. You won't hurt me. And just think, soon you'll be back on the track. You'll be able to do the things you did before."
She's so tired, tired of fighting, tired of trying. She looks so frail and weak beneath me. I transfer both her wrists into one hand and cup the back of her neck with the other. I lift her to me, massaging her neck in the process.
She finally latches on and her purr starts up almost immediately. It's more of a soft growl, but it's out of pleasure, rather than anger. I sigh, loving the feeling of her fangs and the soft suckling of newborn Vampires. I hope she never out grows it, it being so adorable and all.
Walking back into Eve's office, I catch the tail end of a heated discussion between Eve and Thorny's brother.
"Well there's nothing you can do about it. Thorny needs Andy just as much as she needs you and I right now. I'd appreciate it if you didn't make this harder than it needs to be," Eve says sternly, standing up behind her desk, clenching her fists in a very clear threat. I can tell the meeting is far from over, seeing as though the safety plan is still in its package on Eve's desk, unopened.
She calls me Andy, one of the very few people I allow it with. We've been friends since the beginning of her Vampire life. Having the same sire makes it kind of hard not to know your Vampire siblings. Speaking of which.
"Eve, are you going to be inviting Achilles back to meet his new sister?" I question. It's important to form a Vampire family unit, especially if the newborn is having problems.
"I'm the only brother she'll ever have," Nico spits angrily. His sire grabs him by the neck, clearly very angry with his creation.
"Achilles is no less of a brother to her than you are. In fact, he's more related to her than you are now. I suggest you hold your tongue for the remainder of this meeting or you won't be permitted to leave my side for the entirety of our visit," Timotheous chastises quickly before refocusing on the meeting.
"Yes, he will be arriving tomorrow. His fledgling is also having a hard time keeping down his food. We thought it would help Thorny to get to know a Vampire who hates this life as much as she. Maybe they could help each other," Eve replies after everyone settles down. "Now, I do believe this meeting is supposed to be about safety, not silly matters that can be discussed on a later date."
The meeting continues on track as Thorny relaxes into her feeding. I keep getting nasty looks from Nico, so I let my aura loose, quickly ending his little fit.
Although my aura silenced Nico, it affects Thorny in a different way. She moans quietly around my neck and my lap is quickly wet with her arousal. Her scent permeates the air, and although her brother seems furious, no one really minds having the sweet honeysuckle in the air. It's having its own affect on me. My fangs come out and I can't help but to pull her closer.
"Andy, are you alright?" Eve asks, knowing mates often have trouble controlling themselves when their other half is sexually influenced by them.
"I'm fine. As long as that fledgling keeps his mouth shut," I snap.
Nico silently agrees and I'm able to pull my aura back. Thorny slouches against me, panting heavily threw her nose. Gently stroking her back seems to lull her back into feeding, and the meeting commences with no further interruptions.
