Chapter 3

"What is going on Lizzie, Is there something you're not telling me!" I asked pulling away from her, "Yes there is something I'm not telling you." Lizzie said I look at her confused "What are you not telling me." Lizzie just looks at me and sighs "I gotta go get your mom. I'll be right back." She turns away to go bet mom "What does she have to do with this?" I ask. Lizzie turns around "It has something to do with your dad leaving." She said turning around again and went to get my mom.

Lizzie comes back a few minutes later with mom, I stand up and walked over to mom "Mommy what is going on, I'm really scared." I said starting to cry "Oh honey I was not looking forward to this day, but I have to tell you sooner or later." My mom said holding me. "Tell me what? what is going on?" Mom motioned me to the couch and patted the seat. "Honey You have a secret power that your father gave you." I sit there shocked "What no I don't" I look over to Lizzie "You do Scarlett, I'm sorry I wish I could of told you sooner." Lizzie started to cry and sat down next to me. I look back at mom "You have all this powers, we don't know what kind of power yet but we are going to take you to Iowa, there is a camp there and you will learn how to use those powers of yours." I look at my mom and i'm just shocked at what I'm hearing. "I'm going to Iowa? It's @^&#ing cold down there and muddy and gross." My mom just looks at me "You have never been there before... And watch your language young lady, we don't need that right now." I sit back and sigh "Fine, I'm sorry." Mom stands up and starts to walk away. "Good, we leave tomorrow, you need to pack your things tonight, Lizzie is going to be with you the whole time so don't worry." I stand up as well "What about Jacob? I want him to come with me." Lizzie sighs "Jacob doesn't know about this... Just us." I look at her "But we can tell him right? I want him to come with us..." My mom looks around and sighs "Ok, fine he can come, he just needs to be careful... You all do

." I look at her with the biggest smile on my face, I run to her and hug her. "Thank you mom. I promise nothing will happen to him. She just looked in my eye's "I trust you." Lizzie and run upstairs to call Jacob and tell him the news... The phone rings and then there is a voice "Hello?" I put it on speaker so Lizzie can talk to him too. "Hey Jacob you have a few minutes? we have something to tell you." there was a pause.. "Is everything ok?. Did something happen?" I giggled " found out I had powers of some sort and I have to go to Iowa for some camp... So I want to take you and Lizzie with me... So want to come?" Lizzie and I waited for a response. "Ok, when do we leave?" He asked "We leave in the morning so you need to pack tonight and we will see you tomorrow morning. "Ok see yea guys in the morning then." I jump with joy. " Yay I'll see tomorrow. Bye." "Bye Bye." I hang up and look at Lizzie. "We are going on an adventure. This might be fun." Lizzie smiles "I'm glad he can come, but remember we need to protect him... Jacob doesn't have powers like us." I look at her weird "Wait you have powers too?" She laughs, "Yes want to see what I do?" I go wide eyes "Well hell yeah! show me show me!" I yell like a little girl. "Ok ok watch." She waves her hand in the air and fire appears. "Woah, that is really cool." Lizzie nods her head "I know and look what else I can do." The fire is gone and water appears in her hands. "Woah, That is amazing. how do you do that?" I asked so shocked. "Haha, well you have the power to. So just motion you're a hand like you're holding a wand, and then flip your hand and boom, fire." I try what Lizzie told me. But it's not working. "I can't do it, I don't know how yet, I'm sorry Lizzie." Lizzie just looks and me and smiles. "Don't worry tomorrow we will see what you can do." I smile at her "Thanks for cheering me up... Like alway." I laugh and Lizzie starts to laugh too. "Girls time to go to bed. We have a long trip ahead of us and we need to get up early to get Jacob." My mom yells from downstairs " Ok, Love you see you tomorrow. I say "Love you too night girls."... "Night" Lizzie and I say at the same time.
