(Jason's POV)

Tiana left Alain and I alone in the room while she took a phone call, giving us a chance to resolve the tension that has been building ever since I got here.

"You have something to say, man?" I said to Alain, who in return, just gave me a hard stare before retreating to the balcony of the room.

There he went and leaned against the railings, looking out at the night skies. I chuckled and followed him.

Once there I spoke. "So how are you and Tiana?" I asked. Alain didn't respond. "Are you two happy? In love and all that?"

"Tiana and I are perfect," He then speaks. "Ainsi, vous pouvez partir."

"I definitely need to get a Rosetta Stone." I smiled. "So that's a yes? You and Tiana are happy? In love?" I repeated.

"Yeah that's right." He said.

I nodded my head. " Well, then. Let me apologize in advance. " I responded.

Alain side eye me.

"Yeah?" He said turning around to face me. "For what?" He asked.

"Well for ending all of that."

"Oh. Is that right?" Alain questioned incredulously.

"Yeah, you see. I made a promise to her."

"Yeah, I know about that promise."

"No." I shook my head. "Six months." I said careful to be as subtle as possible. "Let's just say I'm owed and you Allen is going to have to pay up."

"Correction, Alain. And I hear you talking a lot, but you're not really saying anything. So why don't you tell me about this promise instead of beating around the bush."

I smiled. "If you insist."

"Je fais."

"I'm taking my world back." I said, taking a step towards him.

"You know. I'm not naive to think that she's not going to go back to you. In the end she may. However-"

"No, she will. " I corrected, interrupting. "See Tiana and I have history. Twenty-six years to be exact. You two. A measle five years of friendship, and a few months of a relationship. So, that's a win for me in itself."

"What's a history to a lack of commitment and extreme heartache?" Alain questioned. "Yes it's true that you and Tiana have history, that I could never compete with, and I don't care to, but let us not forget what you did to her. How you broke her heart and betrayed her when she wanted to follow her dreams. How you spent years avoiding her when all she wanted you to do was love her and support her. And that promise? Years she wasted! Being faithful to you. Not allowing herself to find a new happiness because you were her only happiness, YOU! And you didn't even care. You moved on. You even got engage. All the while, Tiana was waiting.  Waiting for you. And I? Waiting for her to move on from you. You never deserved her. She was too perfect for you. She deserved more. Better. And you know what? I will be that better. I will be that for her. Forget a history and years of a relationship you two had because those truths pales in comparison to what she went through because of you. A win in itself? You lost when you let her go." He finished, stepping to me boldly just in time for Tiana to see.

"What is going on here?" She asked, walking over and separating us. " we're not fighting, right? Jason?" She said looking to me.

I looked down at her and smiled. "Right." I said looking back at Alain before walking back in the room. "Well I should be going." I said to Tiana as she and Alain walked back in the room.

"Alright, but do you have somewhere to stay?" Tiana questioned. " A hotel or...?"

I smiled. "No need... I live here." I finished before walking away and leaving out of the house.
