Night Fall:

"So how was our newest model today?" I asked, sitting between Alain's legs as he parted my hair down the center and then horizontally, preparing my protective style.

"She was no trouble at all." Alain responded as he started on one of my bantu knots. "Clara and the others aided her as she took a few headshots and continued to when she practiced her catwalk."

"Yeah? well is she improving?" I questioned.

"According to the ladies, yes."

"Great! I am so glad. I was starting to worry. Like, seriously. Babe did you see her file? The girl has little to no experience."

"Well hopefully she's a fast learner." Alain responded. "Anyways enough about the ladies. How was your meeting with your accountant and everything, certains progrès?"

"Yes! Everything is perfect. Money flow, sufficient. Area, not as competitive as other areas. All that's left is hiring construction workers, and getting to work on building my dream boutique. I wasn't able to build the first boutique, so... I'm excited."

"Incroyable, babe. Je suis si content pour toi."

"Aww merci, amour."

"Of course, love. Here take a look." Alain said, handing me the hand mirror.

"Babe!" I exclaimed, looking into the glass.

"Did I do alright?" He asked, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck.

"Oh my gosh, babe! I am so impressed." I said looking back into the mirror. "Yesss, sweetie. You did that."

Alain smiled brightly. "Thank you." He said.

"Now finish the last two to perfection and I will love you forever."

"You promise?" He questioned.

"That's my word, I promise."

"Alright, I'm going to hold you to it."

"As you should."

"Sit back and watch your man impress you."

I chuckled." I'm watching, babe. I'm watching. I repeated, looking into the mirror.

As Alain was about to start on my third knot, I hear the doorbell ring. I looked up at Alain who was staring back at me.

"What time is it?" I asked as I stood up and walked over to the night stand where my phone was charging. I unlocked my phone and checked the time which read 9:45 p.m. I showed it to Alain.

"Who could be ringing the doorbell at this hour?" He asked, standing up on his feet.

"I haven't the slightest idea." I moved to place my cell back on the night stand, " I'll go see."

I proceeded to walk when Alain stopped me "No I'll go." He said holding me back.

"Babe it's okay, I can go."

"Seriously, love. Stay back. Who know what's behind that door at this time. They or it could be dangerous." He finished before walking out of the bedroom.

"Okay, well. I'll just be in here." I muttered quietly. "Careful Alain."

"Where is she?" I soon hear someone say.

A minute later, in walked Alain with a disapproving face.

"Who is it, babe?" I questioned curiously.

Soon after, someone emerged from behind Alain.

"Jason?"

"There she is!" he said before embracing me.

"Oh you want a hug? Okay." I responded, reluctantly embracing him  before pulling away. "So, um. Yeah. What are you doing here?" I then asked, side eyeing Alain before looking back at Jason.

"What am I doing here?" He repeated, "keeping a promise." he responded with.

"Oh, no. That's okay. You don't have to keep that promise." I said, waving it off.

"What are you talking about, baby? Of course I do." Jason responded with a knowing smile.

"Seriously, Jason. We're good. You've been forgiven so, there's no need for that promise."

Jason, then, shook his head. "I'm sorry, babe. Bu-"

"Tiana." Alain suddenly interrupted, "Her name is Tiana. Why don't you call her by that."

Jason looked at Alain and chuckled to himself, before turning  back to Tiana. "As I was saying, Tiana. Baby, I'm keeping that promise, whether you want me to or not."

He has got to be kidding me!

I looked up at Jason leering, for we both know what he's up to, as he made it perfectly clear six months ago.

"I will continue to fight for you and win you back, Tiana. Even if you fall In love with him and marry him, I'll ruin that too, because I am never going to stop fighting. I will chase you to the ends of the world; if it takes days, months, or even years I will get you back."

"Pointless, but that's up to you. However I-"

Just as I was about to say something else, my phone rang. Seriously, who the hell is calling at this hour?!

"Hold on," I paused, walking over to the night stand and grabbing my phone. I looked at the caller. "Will you both excuse me? I have to take this." I finished before walking out of the room.
