As soon as we get in the gym I go and sit with Anna. She stares at me and finally stammers out,"You wanna hang out after school?". "How about my house?" I reply. "YAS!" she replies a little tooooo loudly. "OH MY GOD, WILL YOU TWO GIRLS STOP FLIRTING AND LISTEN TO WHAT I WAS SAYING?!?!?!?!?!"screams this fucking beautiful, rich, popular senior named Ellen who had come into gym today and give us some crappy presentation about CPR. Anna and I glare at her and then I quietly whisper to her "That was the girl me and Rose were talking about who has been fighting this bitch war for that past couple months with that other senior Sarah,". She looks at me, then she does something surprisingly, she tells me "Claire, the seniors all think they're better than anybody, who cares about their petty bitch fights, anyway, your to good for that anyway." I look at her shocked. Anna is one of those girls who does not show very much emotion. I was so happy and amazed at her comment that I took her hand and squeezed it, she didn't even flinch, she just smiled back up at me. Then the end of the period bell rings and breaks our moment, everyone rushes out the door and I just stand there bewildered while everyone leaves. Did that just really happen, all of it? The kissing with Amethyst, the heartfelt appreciation from Anna? I shake my head in annoyance and confusion from all the emotions I am feeling, and walk away.
