The Best Friend

Friends??

Josh took her to their classes and I went to mine. All I could think about was how she felt about him, has he already asked her out, does he have any feelings for me? I didn't know, but I need to.
When lunch finally rolled around, Josh waved me over to sit with him and Maddy. I went over and sat right beside Josh.
"Hey, Emma this might sound weird, but I really want us to get to know each other. I mean if we are neighbors, go to the same school, and have the same classes as me it would be nice to at least know you." She asked.
"Sure, that would be nice. We could go get some ice cream after school or does that sound to childish?" I replied.
"I want to come!" Josh whined.
"No" we bothed yelled at Josh. After lunch we went back to our classes. I was wondering about what me and Maddy would talk about. I wanted to see if any boys were on her mind. Aka Josh. Classes went by fast so it was finally time to meet Josh and Maddy. When I got to his pickup truck we got in and he dropped us off asking again  if he could come and we said no.
"What are you going to get?"She asked me.
"Moose tracks. What about you?"
"Probably chocolate chip cookie dough." She replied. We got our ice-cream and we say down by a window.
"Where did you come from before you moved here?" I asked
"Orlando, Florida. We lived in a beach house and I was living my life like any other girl, but my dad lost his job, so we moved here."She responded.
"Well, don't tell any one here in Tennessee that you came from gator territory or they might burry you alive." I joked. Where I live it is a shame to be a gator fan. It is either Tennessee or get you butt out of here. Football is the main sport. Sunday's are the best days because you go to Church in the mornings and either play football or watch it when you get home. I am the oldest out of 4. The youngest, Sydney, is spoiled rotten and also just as loveable and she is 2. Next is James who is 7 and one of the craziest boys you will ever meet. Next is Sarah, she is 13 and my favorite. If I ever need anything she is there for me and I am there for her. Meanwhile, me and Maddy finished our ice-cream and headed back.
"I had a lot of fun getting to know you and we should do it again sometime." She said
"Me too, but I have a question. Have you met any boys you like yet?" I asked her, scared of the answer.
"Well, kind of. Okay I am just going to say it. Josh." She said. I felt as if I am never going to get Josh if he likes her and she likes him.
"Oh, ok cool." I lied.
"You guys aren't dating or anything right. Cause of you don't want me to go out with him or anything I won't." She quickly responded.
"Oh, no, no go ahead it is fine." I lied again. I just basically just told her to go out with him. Great, just great.
