The wind blew softly through the plaza. Several tables were outside and the small shop was closed long ago.
Amy stood on the edge of a roof overlooking the plaza and the alley that she had met Carl yesterday.
She shivered at the memory.
It's no matter... I will find that bastard. For Frank, and for Luke. She thought as she closed her eyes.
She lowered herself into a cross-legged sitting position.
She breathed in and out slowly. Measuring her breaths as she emptied her mind and opened her senses.
Nothing... Amy thought as she opened her eyes and exhaled. Damn. Allon showed me how to sense auras and energies...but I'm not seeing Carl's...
Amy sighed and blew a stray lock of hair from her eyes.
Allon looked at Amy as she sat cross-legged on the couch.
Her face was scrunched up in concentration.
"If you continue to force it like that..." Allon began in a conservative tone.
Amy's eyes snapped open. "Are you implying what I think you are implying, cat?" Amy asked in a terse tone.
"Oh, no." Allon breathed. "Whatever do you mean?" He asked with a wide-eyed.
Amy muttered under her breath. "It's not working. I'm not sensing anything." Amy said as she slumped into the couch.
Allon tilted his head at her, regarding her with his sharp feline stare. "You can't force it Amy. You yourself has to relax and lengthen your senses. There's a lot more out there than you know."
Amy looked at him. "What if I can't do this?"
"Oh you will..." Allon stated as he stretched his forelegs in front of him and laid down.
"Wow... So encouraging."
"Thank you."
Amy stared at him.
"When you have "reached that level of awareness, you'll know. It's like waking from a peaceful nap and being washed in 'a sea of colours."
"Hmmm," Amy breathed as she thought.
"You can practice teleporting some more. And when I see you again, I'd like you to clean that paw print on the ceiling." Allon stated with his eyes closed.
"Huh?" Amy said as she looked up and her eyes widened as she looked at the four paw prints.
Cat prints that were somehow on her white ceiling.
"Allon...how the ̶ " Amy started but Allon stopped her.
"I get around." He said. "Besides, it's a part of your training. You next...assignment if you will."
"But did you really have to walk on my ceiling?"
"Do you like it?"
"Hell no." Amy retorted as if he had gone mad.
Allon opened one eye. "Good."
Amy came out of her memories as her eye twitched from the memory of that damned cat.
I swear...
Amy jumped off the roof and landed in the plaza. I guess I'll come back here tomorrow after school.
