A mouse is sitting on your heart
How light its steps may seem
Its little claws wont tear apart
Your edges and your seams

Wont it?

A housecat planted on your chest
Its weight leaves slight imprint
Though quite the unwelcome guest,
sharpened claws wont leave much footprint

Will they?

A wolf is sitting on you
Hunger glinting in its eyes
It waits until youre nearly through
Just to hear your last goodbyes

You never thought it'd hurt you
("But its fur was oh so soft!")
Until it began to chew
