Marie's POV
I'm in the hospital room again. The man and the woman are by my bed looking very sad.
"Happy birthday, Jasmine," the woman sniffs. Then she shakes her head. "I don't know if you can even hear me, but if you can, please try to wake up. Try to come back to us baby." The man takes her hand. She buries her face in his shoulder, sobbing.
I feel a stirring in me, an insatiable urge to go to them. To comfort them. I want it so badly, I can feel the muscles in my body straining to reach them. I don't know why, but after years of seeing them in my dreams, I feel like I'm in some way connected to them.
Suddenly, the monitor next to me starts beeping faster. The man jumps.
"What's happening? Nurse! Something's happening!"
A nurse runs into the room. She checks the monitor by my bed. I can still feel myself straining to reach them, when suddenly-
The room feels more real. I feel like I'm actually laying in a hospital bed, with a woman and a man next to me. The monitor beeps slow down, and suddenly I notice I can move my eyes around. Before they'd felt locked in one position, but now they dart around the room, taking in everything.
My finger twitches. Strange, I've never moved in one of these dreams before. The nurse gasps suddenly.
"What? What is it?" the man asks.
"Mr. and Mrs. Brown, your daughter is awake," the nurse says.
