"Sorry I'm late." Ringo stammered, blushing red as the class's attention turned to him.

"Oh, Mr. Starkey." Mrs. Polythene Pam, their english teacher, said in shock. "T-Take a seat."

Ringo was never late before.

He jolted up, eyes wide.

"Yeah?"

Mean Mr. Mustard, as his students called him, gave him a scowl.

"I asked you a question, Mr. Harrison."

George gave him a frown in return.

"Well, could you repeat it? I didn't quite hear what you said." He shot, smirking slightly at how annoyed Old Mustard was at him.

"Detention! And don't even try to wiggle out of this time, Harrison."

"Mr. Starkey," Mrs. Pam said in a low voice. "Come here, please."

"If it's about me being late, I'm really sorry---"

"It's not about that, Mr. Starkey. I'm just a bit concerned about you... You've been..." Mrs. Pam tried to find the right words. "You've been unresponsive today. I find it odd since you're one of my top students."

He flushed in embarrasment and looked down on his shoes.

"Did something happen today?" She asked softly, concern lacing her voice.

"Nothing, ma'am." He mumbled, his voice quiet but Mrs. Pam could hear it. "E-Excuse me..."

George: i wont be able to make it today

Ringo sighed, slumping against the bean bag with a heavy book resting on his lap.

Ringo: its fine, really

George: wait

George: i might manage to sneak out

Ringo: george no.

George: george yes.

Ringo: ugh that'll earn you another detention geo

George: but i want to meet up with you

Ringo bit his lip, hating the way his heart squeezed at George's last text.

Ringo: fine

Ringo: but keep your butt outta trouble and dont let the teacher catch you

George: ill be there in five minutes

George: and ill be expecting a kiss for my efforts

Ringo tried to fight the smile that threatened to form in his lips.

Ringo: not making any promises tho

George: im still getting that kiss tho
