Romeo’s POV

Watching a dark figure come inside I acted on instinct because it was way too dark to see at the back of Father Laurence’s house. I sprang forward and pressed my hand tightly against their mouth, while my right hand was gripping my gun, which was pressed against the person’s head.

“Don’t move.” – I whispered my warning.

All of a sudden, the lights turned on and Father Laurence walked in from the living room, with a cute blond in a summer dress right behind him. Upon seeing me holding a gun to someone’s head, the girl gasped in alarm and clasped a hand over her mouth.

Remembering my hostage, I looked down at the girl in my arms. I was so confused at that moment that I could hardly remember how my hand has got over her mouth.

“Romeo, I think you should go home now.” – hearing Father Laurence’s voice, I realised that I was still holding too tightly onto my hostage. Putting away my gun I hesitantly released the girl.

As soon as she spun around facing me, I was captured by her beauty. She looked about sixteen or seventeen years old. Her wavy hair was long, light brown in colour and she had the most intense blue eyes, hidden behind impossibly long and black lashes. Her skin was smooth and ivory pale. High cheekbones, rosy cheeks, and those red, kissable lips… Beautiful – she was breathtakingly beautiful. Looking her up and down, I took notice of her gorgeous body, until I saw her hand clasped tightly over a mean-looking gun.

Looking right into her eyes, I immediately recognised the pain, rage and hatred flowing through them, as I knew only one other person with the same icy blue eyes.

Tybalt Capulet. My greatest enemy so far and I’m only nineteen years of age. Tybalt, the one that by trying to kill me, has instead killed my best friend – Mercutio. Tybalt Capulet, the man I killed less than a week ago, and for which I will be banished from the city of Verona Beach in less than three days’ time.

“Juliet, why don’t you go inside now?” – Father Laurence’s voice broke through my complicated thoughts. It was then, that I released that I have been staring at the goddess in front of me.

Turning my head to at Father, I once again remembered about the Blondie. Eyes wide with disbelief, she slowly moved towards the girl in front of me. Juliet.

Juliet Capulet. That’s right. That explains why she looks so much like Tybalt. It also explains why she glares at me with so much hate. If look could kill, I’d be long dead by now. Hell, if we were to meet somewhere else, she probably would’ve just pulled the trigger of her gun. The gun with Tybalt’s initials on it – T.C.

The luxury princess, practically alone, outside of her ‘safe-castle’, armed with only her dead cousin’s gun? Unbelievable. Yet, it’s true.

“Miss?” – The Blondie gently tagged Juliet’s hand towards herself.

“Sara…” – the most beautiful sound I have ever heard – the voice of an angel – came out Juliet’s pretty little mouth. I was once again mesmerized.

“Please?” – The Blondie, Sara, pulled Juliet into the house – and away from me.

“Fine.” – Juliet looked back over her shoulder at Sara, her voice growing softer towards her friend, “Let’s go.”

With a last glance in my direction, Juliet followed Sara inside. As soon as she was out of my sight, I realised that I desperately wanted, needed, to follow this beautiful goddess – who has already stole my heart – and to keep her in my sight. Before I could do just that, Father Laurence was standing in front of me.

“Go home now, son.” – His tone was soft, but firm. At first, I wanted to argue, but then I remembered that Juliet was a Capulet, and that I never had a chance to begin with, especially not after killing her beloved cousin.

I walked out, got onto my motorbike, and left without looking back – it was for the best. Argh, I sure hope not.
