Chapter Three.
"What do you mean us?" I sputtered out. Was this dude for real?"Well ever since your little show of PDA, rumours have it that you and I have hit it off and are now a thing. I mean, I basically loathe you."
See, see what I mean? Even he claimed that he loathed me, who am I not to retaliate?
'Rumours are a bitch.' I'd always convinced myself that but in this case scenario, I was about to make a great exception.
"Listen babe, I have a reputation to keep and I, in no way am I going to let this tarnish my perfect reputation." I almost gagged in his face.
"Are you kidding me? If there is any reputation that will be tarnished here is mine. You're not exactly a catch of my status."
He gasped and placed his palm on top of his chest in mock hurt. I rolled my eyes at his theatrics and brushed some hair away from my face. Okay, so maybe I did lie a bit. Just a little bit. Don't get me wrong, Alan wasnt ugly. The dude was far from ugly, he was... hot. Just that my ego and our heated relationship of years has brought us to this situation, where we can't even appreciate each other's attractiveness. In front of each other at least.
His dark brown locks fell to his face, in a messy yet cute way. It suited him and I liked that he kept it longer than before. His beautiful blue orbs that always had a playful glint in them always seemed to set me in a trance – unspoken of – and his lips, how he would bite them lightly each time he focused or tried to think hard, possibly planning ways to annoy me. And let's not forget the body God Himself carved into place, all Greek God worthy.
Whoa! Chill, I don't like him or anything. I'm just trying to appreciate one of God's hottest creations. Now if he would do the same...
"I think it would be more legit if it was me saying that to you and not the other way round."
"Screw off."
"What a sweet way not to curse."
"At least I'm trying to be good."
"As if. Nothing will ever change that stone heart presumptuous smartass being you are."
Deep breaths Jordy, deep breaths.
"You know what? I thought that you would at least act like your age for once. How wrong was I?"
"Jordy–"
"Ally."
"We should make our own show. The Ally and Jordy show."
"No. The Jordy and Ally show." I said with a wide smile on my face.
"No."
"Yes."
"But I came up with the idea!"
"And I'm the smarter one between the two of us."
He flipped me the finger and I yawned, feigning boredom. He glared at me and as if on cue, the bell rang. Break was over and I only had a few fries, if not none. Now it was my turn to glare at him. "I'm hungry and its class time. This is all your fault." I yawned again, involuntarily this time.
"Anyways, so what are we going to do?"
"I'm sure you're aware but can I ask you something? Do you not know that we have a class to get to at the moment?"
He rolled his eyes, "Yes, I'm very much aware. Besides, it's not like its going to be some serious issue. We can even ditch if you want."
I couldn't believe this dude. Really? Ditching? Hell nah, my mom would smite me if she found out.
"No thank you. I have a perfect record to keep up with."
"Oh, are you talking about the one you so smartly saved by kissing me so you wouldn't get a tardy on your sheet?"
Well, surprise surprise. So, he is not as stupid as I thought he was.
"Big deal, it happens. Shit happens."
"Whatever."
"Listen Julian, we're late and class has probably already started and I don't want you to get–" I suddenly stopped in my tracks as the realisation of what I said settled in. I had already turned and started walking away when I said that and as much as I wanted to turn and try to apologize, I didn't want to face the awkwardness that was bound to follow.
I called him Julian. I freaking called him Julian, dammit.
"Did you just call me Julian?" I regretfully nodded my head yes and could imagine him grimacing from my mute confession.
I turned around and approached him slowly, careful not to get too close to him. "Alan I'm sorry, it was a slip of the tongue. I would never do that on purpose." Was I apologising? And much, to Alan? I was losing it.
He brushed past me without a word and I gripped his arm, causing him to tense at first before shrugging me off and turning to face me.
"What?" He snapped. The cold look he gave me made me take a step back and I took a deep breath to calm myself from doing anything I would end up regretting.
"I'm sorry." My voice sounded weak and scared to my own ears and I winced as I thought of how pathetic I sounded in that moment.
Alan stared at me, as if he was searching for something but quickly turned away and left without another word.
I was late for class, hungry, still riled up from our argument earlier, sorry and guilty. Oh I was A-okay and the reason for all that... why of course, Alan freaking Roy.
