Spencer’s POV

"When’s Ali getting here?” I asked Emily, putting my empty glass of lemonade down.

"I don't know, she said she'd be here by 9:15 but its half past already". She answered, closing her book and sighing.

The music from the radio suddenly fuzzed out and stopped entirely.

"What the hell was that?" Hanna hissed to me.

"It was probably just the storm outside" I said, just as we heard a rustle from outside the shed.

I grabbed my torch, and Aria grabbed hers and we all got up quietly and I flicked mine on. We were getting closer to the door now and the rustling had gotten closer too.

I heard Aria breathe heavily and she turned her torch down, so it was a dim light.

We were close to the barn doors now and my heart was thumping so loud, I was surprised the others couldn't hear it. The door handle suddenly turned and then- BANG the door opened and we all screamed, I clutched onto Hanna, my eyes closed.

There was sudden laugh from the doorway, just as the lightning struck, and I looked up, opening my eyes, recognizing the voice.

"Ali!"

"You guys were so scared; you should have seen your faces!" Ali said, giggling.

"You scared me!" Emily told her, giving her a little glare, but laughing as she did so.

We all fell silent, then looked at each other, then burst out laughing, I laughed so hard, I got a stitch and sat down. The laughter died down, and then we looked at each other again and burst out laughing again.

"I need to stop, I have a stitch!" I heard Hanna say in-between giggles. We all calmed down and sat down in various places, Ali sitting next to me, with a white blanket draped over her. I switched on the TV, flicking through channels, until Ali plucked the remote out of my hand and put on Best Friends Forever (A/N: Not a real film by the way!).

After a few minutes of silent she delved into her bag, producing a bottle of ginger beer. Then she unscrewed the lid, and as soon as she lifted it off I knew at once it wasn’t ginger beer, the strong smell of vodka hit me.

She poured it into five cups and chucked the half empty bottle on the couch and gave us each a cup. I laughed and sipped some, the taste burning my tongue.
