Sam's POV

It was a simple house. Off-white siding covered in years and years of mildew and ivy. Grass was up to our knees and swayed in the wind, as we made our way to the porch.

"Dude. How do you even kill a cactus?"
Dean, my brother says and chuckles revealing his top row of straight, white teeth and kicks the dead cactus with the tip of his boot, and the dehydrated cactus partially turns into dust.

We walk up to the house and as we step on the creaky porch Dean says,

"This will be the plate where we kill Ruby Montgomery..."

Ruby's POV

I woke up from a nightmare. I take some sleeping meds and fall asleep again.

.
.
.

I wake up around 11:00 a.m. My stomach growls and twists with pain. There's probably a continental breakfast downstairs and I can catch some breakfast at. I pulled on a light brown sweater, some light blue jeans, and my old chucks and leave the hotel room and start walking down the hall to the continental breakfast. As I walk I notice the weird intricate patterns and stains on the ancient carpet under my feet. As soon as I turn the corner. I see police officers and forensics everywhere. The crowd of people behind the yellow crime scene tape chatter amongst themselves. I walk past some yellow tape and turn so I can see what everyone's talking about. I hear low murmurs and chatters from the people behind me. I look up and see Ezra.

Why would he be here? Last time I called, he said he was two states away.

Did someone kill him and take him here?

He was naked and his body was twisted in ways unnatural and his hands and legs were nailed to the wall. His pale skin was covered in his crimson blood. His hands are nailed together and cupping a white dove that was also covered in blood and nailed to the wall.

"It's so poetic." A girl behind me says.

How could someone do this?

Why would someone do this?

I turned around, I couldn't bare to look at my Ezra like that. I pushed my way through the crowd of people and burst through the double doors of the hotel. I try and catch by breath but my lungs feel like they are caged in. I hear a numb ringing and I fall over and close my eyes. The world was spinning and everything was turning into one big blur. The clouds above me slurred and I saw two men standing above me and right before my eyes could focus, everything went black...

I woke up in a small room, with low ceilings. It was very dirty and didn't smell too pleasant either. My head was pounding with pain and small cuts covered my body. I was in an interrogation room, a mirror was on my left and a door was to the right of it. On second thought it was probably a two-way mirror, someone was watching me from the other side. I propped my head up with my arm and waited.

Moments later a bulky, surly man walked into the room, wearing a navy police suit. He had opaque black sunglasses and a bald, shiny head. He took a seat across the table opposite of me. He took off his sunglasses and put them on the metal table. My cuffs rattle as I sit up straight in the chair.

He looks at me in the eyes. His icy blue eyes meet my blue eyes.

"Phillip? What's going on? Why am I here?" I beg my older brother for answers.

"Ruby, do you know why you're here?"
He says his deep voice hasn't changed a bit.

"No, Phillip, I don't, that's why I'm asking you!" I retort and slam my hands on the table.

"You're here because you're charged with not one but two case of 1st degree murder! One for mom and one for Ezra!" He says and slams his fists into the table now.

Sadness creeps up my throat and my eyes burn with tears.

"You think I killed mom?" I stutter.

"She was murdered right after you came to town!" He says.

"I came for her birthday! Not to murder her!" I scream between my teeth.

"Such a coincidence right, that Ezra dies a few days later? In the same freaking hotel that you're staying in, huh?! Why ya dropping bodies Ruby?" He says and tears stream down my face.

"Maria was my mother and Ezra was my fiancé! I loved them!"

"Loving them isn't an alibi, and the odds are stacked against you Ruby, even if I wanted to help, I can't." He stands up and scoots the chair under the table and gets up and stands in the door frame.

"Don't leave me here! You can't leave me here!" I scream and yank on my cuffs.

"Sorry Ruby, but I can and I will leave you." He says and the door slams shut.

.
.
.

A no name police officer unlocks my handcuffs a few hours after Phillip interrogated me. I rub my sore wrists and sit up, stretching my legs and push past him out of the room.

I breathe in the cold night air and let it fill my lungs before I release it. My cherry mustang is in the impound lot. I walk up to the officer guarding the fenced in impound area.

"Montgomery, Ruby. Cherry red mustang, year 2014." I say and he fiddles with the key to unlock the lock on the gate. It opened with a long cream and he turn back and says,

"I'll be right back"

He drives my car out of the lot and hands me the keys and I hop in and my tires squeal as I rip out of the police station.

.
.

I pull into the motel 6 and walk into the lobby and then into the elevator. As I walked down the hall I saw my room door, and it was barely open.

What's going on?

I push the door open slowly and the old hinges let out a long creak. The curtains were open letting moonlight spill into the room. As I fully step inside the room I notice a shadow sitting in the chair by the desk.

Not a shadow a person.

As he steps out of the darkness and into the moonlight, I notice his features. He was tall, white, male, handsome, light brown hair, sharp jawline, hazel eyes that practically glowed in the dark.

"Hi, Ruby." He says in a deep, husky voice and sends a wave in my direction.

My mouth opens to say something back but muscled arms wrap around me like a constricting snake. A cloth covers my mouth and I try to fight my way out of his hold. But I am a subject to the drug on the cloth. My breathing slows and my body goes limp, but I don't fall, I am still in the arms of my capturer. Then my vision slurs and everything goes black...
