~Keira's POV~
I laid on the bed of my room at the inn, I have to find a place to stay before too long. I stared up at the ceiling, I sat up and then stared at the mark on my leg, the fairy tail guild mark that rested upon a scar that was from burning off all my other guild marks, I was only eleven when I removed the first one, and thirteen when I removed the second, sixteen was the third, twenty-one was the fourth, and the last, just yesterday, at age twenty-six I burnt the fifth one off, and I'm pretty sure soon I'll be burning this one off. No matter how many times I do it it'll still hurt and I'll scream each time. The days began to pass and now at two weeks in this guild I haven't even been there since I got my mark, and I've been paying a lot to stay at this inn, I'm almost broke, I have to get a place to live, which means I need money, which means I have to get a job, from the guild... I got out of bed and changed into a black sundress. I quickly make my way to the guild, let's just get this over with. I stepped into the guild and everything went silent, it was incredibly awkward and I walked over to the request board, picking a fairly simple request with a nice price. I walked over to the barmaid Mira and I got it accepted. I turned on my heels and began to walk out of the door,
"Oh by the way. Our Master didn't tell us your name." I stopped and looked over my shoulder
"You decide what my name is." I said
"Keira. We'll call you Keira." My heart stopped and then began to race, they aren't the first to call me that, I looked ahead with wide eyes
"Eh? Do you not like it?" She asked me, I shook my head
"No, it's perfect." I said holding back the tears in my eyes,
"I'm glad." I could hear the smile in her voice
"Bye, Mira." I waved walking away.
"Wait? You're leaving already?" she asked,
"Yeah, I've got a job to do." I said still walking. I left for my job and finished in about two days, it was late, and I was hours away from the nearest house, I set up camp. I lit a small fire as the night grew darker and colder, I drifted off to sleep.
I heard rustling and footsteps, my eyes shot open but otherwise I didn't move. I listened to their movement and tried to listen to their thoughts but they blocked me out, very few people know how to block me out, could it be those two? No it can't be. Before I was able to get off the hard floor they were gone. I got up and gathered my stuff and headed to the train station, all the time thinking about my childhood. Getting back to Magnolia I gathered my reward and paid for another night at the inn then hit the bed, hard. I hate thinking about my past lives. I hugged my knees close to my chest, they gave me that name, back when I didn't have one, Macbeth and Eric. Soon enough we were Midnight, Dancer and Cobra. I made it through the night with only a few tears shed, yet somehow the next morning my eyes were red and puffy like I had cried a sea. I readied myself for the day and put on a little makeup to cover up my sad face, I walked to the guild feeling slightly better about being there no that I found someone who was nice to me. This time when I showed up it wasn't as awkward. I talked to Mira, it was just small talk but soon enough, it came up, that subject, what was it like before coming here... I sighed,
"It's a long story, and it hurts to talk about." I said looking down,
"I'm sorry for bringing it up." I looked back up at her,
"No it's fine, it's in the past now." I smiled a fake smile and went back to drinking my drink. It then became very awkward.
"If you want to know I'll tell you." I said as Mira looked up at me with hopeful eyes.
"The Oración Seis. That's what my life was like when I was a kid." I said looking up into her eyes.
"What?! Really?!" She said surprised
"Yeah only for a few years though, I was in a few other guilds after." I went back to my cherry cola as she stood there dumbfounded.
"Wait, I knew you were in dark guilds, but the Oración Seis? That highly ranked?" I frowned
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked confused and slightly offended.
"Well, you're just really young, and you seem so sweet." She said smiling.
"Sweet? Did you see what I did to Erza?" I asked.
"Yeah well..." She started but I started to giggle, Mira really sees the best in people, no wonder she's friends with everyone.
"What?" She asked looking at me confused.
"You think I'm sweet, you're an angel, how am I sweet to an angel?" I couldn't control my laughter.
"I might be pretty and kind but you have those angelic eyes, I'm not the angel here, you are." She said winking at me. 'Angelic eyes'? What does she mean? I have ugly eyes, they're red, not like Midnight's beautiful crimson eyes, but muddy red eyes.
"I hate my eyes." I said bluntly
"Why, they're warm and welcoming, red with hints of brown." She had on a sweet smile.
"Whatever." I said rolling my eyes. I left the guild soon after that, and on my way back to the inn I came across an old comrade from a previous guild. We talked and wandered around town.
"I had a nice time today, Dancer. I hope our paths cross again." He smiled at me.
"I do to." I said as I waved good-bye.
