We run. We run faster than we ever have before.

Out feet stumble through the small alleys and between houses to avoid being seen. The shouts of the men gradually become further away as they frantically look for us. The fear heaves from their voices, they don't understand what I am. I don't even know what I am!

I keep a tight grip of Ethan's hand as we make our way to the edge of the village, most the time he is dragging me down paths and round corners. He doesn't look at me, his eyes are fixated on the path ahead of us. I realise we aren't heading towards the woods, in fact we are heading away from it.

"Ethan?" I whisper biting my lip as I glance up at him; my hair flicking round my face. He glances quickly at me but doesn't reply. I try digging deep to past memories to find the trust I once had for him however it doesn't change how I feel about him now. I am left with uncertainty, why is he even hear?

"W-where will we g-go?" I stutter.
"I don't know but we need to get out of here, they will expect us to head to the trees to hide so instead we will take to the main road"

"o-ok but what if we are seen, I need to change my clothes," I look down at myself I am a mess. My clothes are blood stained and dirty, I killed people!

The horror suddenly dawns on me all the more, I am a murder! I let my human senses get lost somewhere deep inside me and let the monster take over. I feel my chest for my heart beat but again as earlier on, my chest is still. Tears prick the corner of my eyes. I can no longer be the Charlotte everyone knew and loved. What if I let go when I am around my family and friends?

I can never let that happen!

I peak up at Ethan, his eyebrows frown forming a harsh 'v' as his mind thinks through our next moves.
"This way..." He whispers as he pulls me to a near by house. We crouch within the shadows and annotate the area. This part of the town is quiet, the residents may have evacuated the area. There is a black car sitting unattended on the drive way, it doesn't take me long to figure out what Ethan is thinking.

"Wait here..." He shifts forward and beckons his hand down in signal for me to crouch down further.
"No, wait. Where are you going?"

"Shhh, ill be back."

He then disappears around the house, I cast my eyes over the silent path. I can hear shouts from the armed men in the distance checking the alleys and houses. It wont be too long until they catch up with us. Looking around me I see two glowing eyes staring at me, as my eyes focus I see the silhouette of a black cat. It's eyes doesn't leave mine as it stands with an arched back ready to strike.

Suddenly Ethan appears again startling me, he takes my hand once again, pressing his warm palm again mine; he then unlocks the car. Before I know it, he is hustling me into the passengers seat and faffing far too much for my liking. I stare back at him with horror, can we actually get away from this?

"We have to try Charlotte, I have caused you so much pain already, I must show you I can be the person you once knew." His voice is low and sad melting the very few icicles in my heart.

He closes the door firmly and within seconds we are away speeding away from the town unnoticed. The houses become few and far between and soon we are accelerating down the motor way where we can blend in with the other cars; matching their speeds so to look casual. The last thing we need is to be pulled over for speeding.

I lean back in the chair as tiredness takes hold, my body gradually returns back to its human senses of normal hunger and thirst. Despite the stress and despair of tonight I can feel my body finally relaxing while watching the orange street lights whizz by, my eye lids become heavy as though being weighed down with rocks and I soon give way to a long needed sleep.

Please forgive the bad spelling and grammar. This is unedited and just the frame of the book it will become. It needs filling in and changed in some parts.

Hope you enjoy either way :) x
