     We all shared a look and then screamed bloody murder.

     Ash came over to me and put his hand over my mouth and mom came in and put her own over the girls' mouths. I started thrashing around trying to get away from him.

     "Kitten please stop. I will never hurt you." Ash whispered looking into my eyes silently pleading. I started to calm down but my breathing was still labored and my heart was till beating wildly in my chest. At least I wasn't trying to claw his eyes out anymore. He sighed and removed his hand from my mouth. I let out a shaky breath as he leaned back and away from me. Mom must have said something to Lay and Cam, because they were exactly like me. Scared but not screaming.

     "Alrighty sweethearts, now we're going to explain all of this and you need to keep an open mind, because this will sound crazy. Kitty, you need to understand your part in all of this. You and Ash are meant to be together." Mom said.

     I looked at her as if she had grown three heads and a tail. "What?' I breathed. What in the h311 is she talking about?

     "Well, sweetheart, as you can see, vampires are real. As are werewolves and a lot of other things you read about. But most vamps are not as cruel as people make them out to be. Yes it is true that  some are ruthless, merciless, and blood thirsty, but most are kind and compassionate. All thanks to Ash." she said with a smile.

     "How is it thanks to him, Mama?" Lay asked. Mama always had people calling her that cause she didn't like people calling her Mrs. Leslie and she prefers kids to call her Mama. Don't ask me why.

     "He is the prince of the Vampires." she said. "He's not king yet because I hasn't found his mate. Or at least hadn't found her. He just recently has." she said smiling at me.

     "Why are you smiling at me like that?" I asked.

     "Kitten." Ash said. "You are my mate." he said grabbing my hand.  I stared at his hand as if it would reach out and bite me at any moment, but somehow I knew he would keep his promise. But that doesn't mean I trust him. He sighed and retracted his hand.

     "What's a mate?" Cam asked. To be honest I want to know to, especially if I'm whatever it is.

     "A mate is someone's other half. After you met your mate, you only want them. You need them. Without them you will go insane. If you meet them and then lose them, you wont survive. They are the one person that can calm us down when we're angry and is the only person we care about most in the world. We would risk our lives to insure their safety. We also do everything in our power to make them happy. Kitten you are my mate." Ash explained looking directly at me the entire time, giving me a small smile at the end.

     "Mama? Can me Lay and Cam talk somewhere alone please?" I asked breaking eye contact with Ash. Mama nodded and Cam lay and I all went to my bedroom. We sat on my full sized bed in silence.

     "So what do you guys think?" I asked.

     "I think this absolutely crazy, but I mean, they did seem like they're telling the truth." Lay said.

     "Yeah. I agree with Lay Lay. I think they're telling the truth." Cam agreed. I admit Ash scared me when he showed his fangs, but it was to prove to me he's not lying. Sighing I nodded my head agreeing. We decided to watch a movie to take our minds off of it for a little while. 

     "Mama. We're gonna watch a movie to get our minds off it for a little bit." I said walking back into the living room.

     "Alright baby. What do you want to watch? It's your choice." she said.

     "Can we watch The Aristocats?" I ask blushing a little bit cause Ash was still in the room. Like I said before I love little kiddy movies. But not a lot of people know that.

     She chuckled and said, "You and your cartoons. You are still a child at heart." She got up from beside Ash and put the movie in. I hesitantly sat next to Ash on the loveseat, still a little frightened of him.

     He sighed again and whispered in my ear, "There's no need to be afraid of me my little mate. If I hurt you it will hurt me as well. I made a promise to not hurt you and I wont. I care for you to much." I shivered in delight at how close he was to me. Mama played the movie and the beginning song played. I was still hesitant, but after about 15 minutes of the movie, I curled up into Ash's side and watched the movie the remainder of the movie. He seemed glad that I trusted him not to hurt me, and I knew he wouldn't. But that doesn't mean he still didn't scare me.

     As the ending credits started to roll, I thought of something. "Wait a minute. Mama. How do you know so much about this?" I asked.

     She sighed and said, "Because your Father was one. He was killed by a hunter and he was my mate. Meaning you are half vampire. But the human genes took over so, you will not suddenly grow fangs and have a sudden appatite for blood." she said chuckling at the end.

     Ash tightened his grip on me, and I found comfort in that. "Janice, Cam, Lay? May I please speak to my mate alone for a moment?" He asked. They all nodded and left the room. The girls were taking it surprisingly well. What surprised me even more was how well I was taking it.

     "Kitten. Will you go out with me this Friday night?" he asked nervously looking away. I laughed at how ii could make a vampire, the prince, nervous. I cant believe I just said that so calmly.

     "Ash I would love to go with you. But that doesn't mean I trust you, or will do it again." I said.

     "Oh trust me Kitten. You will want to do it again." he said with a smirk.

     "Didn't I just say I don't trust you?' I asked teasingly.

     "You will. I will help you learn to trust me." he said with a genuine smile this time. I smiled back and nodded. "Well, I guess I should get going. I will see you tomorrow my beautiful mate." he said standing up. He took my hand in his and kissed my knuckles. I blushed and led him to the door.

     "Yeah see you tomorrow Prince." I said smirking him.

     "Please don't call me that." he said with a sigh.

     "Why? I think it suits you Prince." I said still smirking.

     "I'm gonna get you for that." he said with his own smirk. He leaned forward and gave me a peck on the cheek, and turned and walked into the recently sold hoiuse across from mine.

     "Wait you live there?" I asked. Well, yelled.

     He turned back to face me and said, "Yeah I just moved in. I'll be here tomorrow to take you to school. If that's okay with you?" he yelled back.

     "That'd be great thanks. Goodnight Prince." I said then shut the door before I could hear his reply. The girls went home soon after him. We all agreed to talk more at lunch tomorrow.

     I went up to my room, took a shower and went to bed, thinking of this Friday.
