8\/Chapter Eight
Kat
I watched as my home grew smaller and smaller as the car drove down the road. Ash and I were in the back while Luca was driving. I'll admit Luca scared me at first, but I don't know. Maybe I'll warm up to him eventually.
"So where are we going?" I asked.
"An airport about an hour from here. The plane leaves in an hour and a half lass." Luca said in his awesome Irish accent. I guess that's where Ash got his slight accent. Romania. I still can't believe I'm moving to Romania, but I can't live without Ash. I just can't.
"Hey Luca?"
"Aye lass."
"Can I plug my phone in for some music?"
"Aye." he said. I wasn't wearing a seatbelt, and neither was Ash, so I easily reached over in between to front and passenger seats and plugged my phone in to the aux. I got on Rhapsody and went on my playlist. A smile made its way to my face as I saw 'Angel with a shotgun' by The Cab. It was the song that was playing in the shop when I first met Ash. I pressed play and settled back into my seat. As the song played, Ash grabbed my hand and brought me closer to him. A smile graced his perfect face.
He leaned down to whisper in my ear. "This is our song. It was playing when we first met. Your hair was down, falling gracefully down your back like a princess would wear it. You had on a black tank top and short shorts, which showed to much skin for wandering eyes." He growled and tightened his grip on me, making me giggle and blush. "Your eyes were shining and I couldn't help but stare. You're an angel. Don't let anyone else tell you any different." His voice dropped even lower if possible. "It was also the first time I heard your voice. Soft and silky you sang, and I was hypnotized."
I blushed and turned my face away slightly to try and hide it, but he grabbed my chin and made me face him again. "Don't hide your blush. It's cute." That of course made me blush even more. He chuckled and pressed his lips against mine slowly, deliciously.
It didn't take long for me to respond to him. I brought my hand up and placed it against his cheek, kissing him back just as softly.
"Alright." Luca said, making us pull away, myself blushing. Again. "That's enough. I don't want to be sick." Ash rolled his eyes and reached over to me to push a button I hadn't noticed before.
"Then don't watch." Ash said. Then a completely black tinted window rolled up between the front and back, like in a limo, but it isn't a limo. Look the point is, we couldn't see Luca and I'm pretty sure he couldn't see us. "Now," Ash said turning back to me. "Where were we?"
He grinned taking my face in his hands. He leaned forward and touched my lips with his own, this time more urgently. I closed my eyes at the pure bliss in this moment. He licked my bottom lip asking for entrance, but I denied him with a smirk. He growled in the back of his throat and put his hand on the top of my thigh. He squeezed making me gasp. He trust his tongue into my mouth, taking advantage of the situation. I ran my hand down his chest, unbuttoning the first few buttons. My hand went to his exposed skin and he moaned when I began to stroke his chest softly. He drew me to him, straddling his lap. One of his hands went to tangle in my hair and the other trailed up and down my spine. I lifted my hips to get closer too him, and unknowingly started to grind on him. He groaned and his hands went to my hips pushing me harder onto him. I moaned and broke away for a few seconds before kissing him again.
The song changed from Angel with a shotgun to Temporary Bliss, also by The Cab. The beginning of the song always reminded me of what the meerkats on the lion king would do. You know, shake their heads side to side with the beat.
Ash broke away from my mouth to trail heated kisses down my neck, stilling my movements. I could feel his fangs scrape against my neck like before, and he pulled away again, just like before. He sighed and rested his forehead against mine.
"Ash?"
"Yes, love?"
"When was the last time you fed?" He closed his eyes and sighed again.
"A little over a week, why?"
"Why didn't you feed?"
"I didn't want to scare you." he whispered.
"You're hungry, aren't you?"
"Kat...."
"Aren't you?" I pushed. He opened his eyes and slowly nodded against me.
"Yes. I am. I was planning on feeding once we were in Romania and you were asleep." He seemed reluctant to admit that to me.
"Where do you get it?" I asked, though I didn't really know if I wanted to.
"Usually from a donor. They let me drink their blood in return for a place to stay from them and their families."
"Are any of the girls?" I asked, tightening my grip on his neck. I didn't want him drinking from someone, especially a girl.
"Sometimes, yes." he said slowly. "But it's never more than that. A few of them have tried, but I turned them down. I wanted to wait for my mate. I waited for you." He brought a hand up and cupped the side of my face gently.
"Will you ever drink from me?" I breathed.
"With your permission, I would like to." he said, just above a whisper, as if he didn't want me to hear him.
"I don't want you drinking from someone else." I quietly admitted, barely able to contain my jealousy at the girls who came onto him. "I want you to drink from me."
"Kat no. You're not ready for it. If I drink from you, I don't know if I could stop myself from marking you."
"I don't care. I don't want you drinking from anyone but me. You're mine, just like I'm yours. If I was a vampire, and you were human, would you want me to drink from someone else?" He growled and I knew I had him. "Exactly. I want you to drink from me." I gripped his hair and guided his head down to my neck where he was kissing before. "Please Ash." I whispered.
He gripped my waist almost painfully. His breathing was ragged and heavy. I could feel his fangs against my neck again as he drew closer to me. "I can't." he breathed. "Not now. I will, but not now."
I sighed and nodded my head, stroking the back of his. We remained like that for the rest of the trip, not saying anything. When we got to the airport, I climbed off of Ash and got my phone back from Luca. We got on the plane after our stuff was loaded. The plane took off smoothly. I sat next to Ash by the window. I leaned to rest my head on his shoulder and his arm went around my shoulders, bringing me closer to him. The last thing I remember, was the soft sound of the engines, as they lulled me to a deep sleep.
Ash
I watched as Kat slept peacefully on me. I sighed as I recalled our conversation. She wanted me to drink from her. I'm not sure she's ready for that though. She doesn't know what she's asking from me. If I drink from her, no other blood will be able to quench my thirst but my mate. I can't do that to her. I can't.
