Year: 1610
3rd person POV:
Katherine Pierce ran through the woods clutching the tiny baby to her chest tightly. She just slaughtered a whole village but found the tiny child who couldnt of been more than a day old crying in the last home she attacked, the baby was covered in the blood of her parents and for some reason she took pity on it though that pity didn't last long for after a few minutes of running thinking of her own self presavation, she dumped the child in the woods all alone to fend for herself and left.

Klaus Mikaelson was running through the woods trying to hunt down Katherina when he heard someone crying he ran towards the sound stopping his seach for katherina and saw a baby who couldn't of been older than a day old, on the floor covered in blood, with only a thin sheet of cloth to protect it, crying. There was something about this baby and for some unknown reason he felt a connection towards it seeing the baby crying torn at his heartstrings, he picked the small baby up and ran back home. On his run back the baby had fallen asleep in his arms and was sucking her thum allowing a small smile to appear upon the hybrids face as he walked through the manner doors.
"Nik is that you" his younger sister Rebekah yelled as she walked through the door of the living room. "What the bloody hell is that" she asked in shock after being hushed from her older brother.
"A baby" he simply stated a smirk pulling at his lips.
"Well I can see that that but why do have it, I thought you were going after Katherina". The blonde original asked clearly confused as to why Klaus would stop seaching for Katherina when being so close to getting her.
"Yes I agree with sister" Elijah asked as he and Kol walked through the palor room doors together.
"I was but then I heared crying and found this baby dumped in the woods and took pity on it, so I couldnt well leave it for it to be mauled by animals now could I" he explained.
"What's it covered" in Rebekah asked.
"Blood".
"Whose" Elijah asked worried for the small child.
"I have no idea".
"And you just found her like this" Rebekah asked appalled.
"Yes" Klaus answered getting sick of all the questions, for all he wanted to do was make sure that the child was ok fed, watered and get a good night sleep safely.
"Well I better clean her up" She took the tiny infant from Klaus reluctantly and looked down at her then look back up a him "whats her name".
"I don't know" he paused for a moment before finally deciding. "How about Mackenzie".
"I like that" Rebekah decided whilst Elijah and Kol nodding in agreement.
"Well then welcome to the family Mackenzie Mikaelson.
