"Alice!" I yell from across the diner. "We have a problem."
She turns around from taking a customers order and gives me a confused look. "Come on!" I motion my hand.
"Can it wait a minute, I'm kind of in the middle of something," she says motioning to the customers she's waiting on.
"No Alice you need to come over here right now."
She rolls her eyes and jogs over to me, "What?"
"Look," I say, pointing to the floor behind the counter.
"What the hell?" Angie mutters to herself.
We stare at the huge dried puddle of blood on the white tiles.
"Wh-what happened?" Alice asks with confusion.
"I have no clue" I say, continuing to stare at the blood in shock.
"Should we call the police?" Angie asks, now looking at me instead of the blood.
"I don't know," I shake my head.
"Well we can't just le-" Alice is cut off by the diner door bursting open.
I look up and roll my eyes. Dominic. Following closely behind him is Matt. Dominic walks up to the counter and makes eye contact with me. "You're coming with me," he demands. Matt stands next to him with his arms across his chest, looking down avoiding eye contact with me.
"Excuse me?" I say with disbelief, glancing at Matt for help but he's still looking down.
"You heard me, now let's go" He says, I see a spark of anger appear in his eyes.
"Not happening." I look over at Alices confused expression and mutter to her quickly "everything is going to be fine." She slowly nods.
Dominic sighs,"Looks like we are gonna have to do this the hard way." I look over at Matt for some help but he gives me a sorry expression and I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. Dominic walks behind the counter and grabs me by the arm and starts pulling me away.
"Okay what is going on here?" Alice says with her hands on her hips, "you aren't taking her anywhere until you explain."
"Look ma'am, I know this may seem um ya know odd, But we really need to speak to Alessandra." Matt says in a reassuring tone.
"And dragging her out of here is your approach?" She throws her hands in the air.
"I'm sorry ma'am," Matt says as Dominic is pulling me out the door.
"Will you tell me what the hell is going on here," I say as I try to get out of Dominic's hold.
"Calmati" Dominic says.
"How do you expect me to calm down, two strange men are practically kidnapping me right now." I try to wiggle out of his grasp. Dominic shrugs and throws me in the back seat of a black SUV. What the hell is happening. Is he seriously kidnapping me. The second I get the chance, I am kicking his ass. Seconds later Dominic gets in the drivers seat and Matt gets in the passengers seat.
"What the hell is going on?" I ask in disbelief.
Dominic looks at me through the rear view mirror. He clearly isn't happy about this situation either. Matt turns around in his seat. "Don't worry everything will be fine" he gives me a small smile, but once I glare at him it quickly disappears.
"You're kidding me right?" I laugh bitterly. "You just kidnapped me!" I throw my hands in the air. "What is this even about?" I sigh in frustration.
"Your father" Matt says quietly. My eyes widen instantly. How do they know my father?
"My father? My fathers dead." I say slowly.
"Well about that..." He says cringing slightly.
I narrow my eyes. "What?"
"He's alive." They say in unison.
"He's not, you must have the wrong girl because my father is dead. I know he's dead. I saw him in his casket." My shock is replaced with frustration.
"Listen Alessandra, he will explain once we get there but for now you just need to trust us," Matt tries to plead with me.
"Trust you? How am I supposed to trust either one of you, I don't even know you? And if what you're saying is true, why wouldn't my dad come get me himself?" My mind is racing because I know my father is dead but what if they are telling the truth.
"I can't give you an explanation, it needs to come from your father. Okay? Just take a deep breath, we'll be there soon," Matt's attempt at calming me down is sweet but definitely not working. We pull down a really long dirt road that seems to lead to nothing but more and more woods. Eventually, we get to the end and there is a huge wooden mansion. It almost looks like a ski resort, it is actually really pretty.
"What is this place?" I say in awe.
"Well, it's your dads house. Not that you believe me yet, but you'll find out in a second" Matt says as Dominic puts the car in park. Matt hops out of the car and opens the car door for me. Despite my skepticism, I hop out of the car.
"Hi sweetheart." I hear from a slight distance.
