I am floating on a raft in this lake; the sun is shining and its smells like lilacs. I am so happy just lying in the sun, I let my hand touch the water but it felt weird like slim, slowly the sky turned from blue to black and it got cold so cold but I continue to lay floating on this raft. I get this nauseated feeling in my stomach, I feel anxious and scared. Something bad is coming; I no longer smell lilacs but sulfur. I sit up. I tell myself, Wake up Selina, wake up, you are dreaming "oh God just wake up". I can hear something in the distance, chanting, some language it sounds old and ancient.There is something lurking just along the tree line, it is watching me, I can feel it. I try to shake myself awake; the chanting starts to grow louder. Stop it I scream, just stop , I cover my ears,and pray, finally my eyes open. Oh thank God, I'm home in my bed.. But I'm not in my bed I'm floating above it. Oh shit I'm still dreaming, wake up, please wake up!
Boom, I hit the bed hard. Crying in fear,I hear my mom running down the hall, she swings open my bedroom door .
'What the hell is going on she screams?"
"Mom, Mom?'I yelled.
"Just a bad dream. It's okay,"my mother says.
"No it's not okay, mom. I'm scared. I'm really scared, Something bad is trying to get me, I can feel it."
My mom rubs my back.
I slowly fall back to sleep just knowing my mom is with me, I feel safe. The last thing I remember is Malfoy, my black cat jumping on my bed and lying right next to me.
I'm awakened by my phone vibrating, I roll over ... "hello" I said.
"Hey it's me Rain." Sorry I did not text you back last night.
"No worries" I say ,we are always good, Rain, dude what time is it?
"Its 9:45" he said
"Oh hell", Rain why you call me so early, jackass, you know I like to sleep, uuhhgggg.
"I know Sophia you would sleep your life away"...that can't be healthy for you" Rain said.
And then the dream came crashing back.... I shuddered.
"Rain I got to go, I will meet you guys at the park later, and then we can make plans for your birthday party."
Rain laughs his adorable laugh." K see ya soon."he says.
I hang the phone up, run downstairs; my mom is making pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, my favorite.
Without turning around my mom says "Oh baby how did you sleep, I was worried about you"
"Fine, I guess. I would of slept better if I had not had that nightmare. I shuddered as I said it.
"Well I thought we could spend the morning together and talk, its been a while since we have spent any time together."
"Sure" I said. " What do you have in mind"?
I think it is time to have a serious but important discussion with you. Your future. Well that does not sound like fun I said.
I thought we could go by the mall and shop for mine and Rain's birthday presents or go take grandma to lunch." I sounded like a spoiled brat and I knew it.
"Sophia you are going to be 16 in a few weeks and I want to pass on what I learned from grandma to you, it's important to me. I was hoping this would skip you, but well it seems it didn't."
"Wait, What? Skip Who? You are losing it lady"I said. I grabbed another pancake off the skillet and started shoving pieces in my mouth. "I am meeting my friends at the park, I plan on getting in some trouble there
" I thought that was quite funny, Mom did not.
Sophia we need to talk, just meet me out in the garden after you finish eating and cleaning up. This is the only day I have off this week
