Chapter 2
I ran all the way to the woods. In the cover of the trees is where I am always most comfortable. This feels like home. Not all of the pack feel like I do but whatever. To each their own ,right? I sit here sometimes for hours and think about my life. How my mom, the super gorgeous red headed beta who almost every pack member has been with, doesn't know who my father is. Or at least she won't tell me. If she had and he had been of higher ranking I may not be as low on the totam pole. But oh well. I have been treated like hell since I was a child. I'm used to it now. The only one who doesn't treat me badly is my best friend and all the other betas. We are the ones who get to do the grunt work. Not that I mind. I'm sitting here lost in thought again when I hear footsteps. I just assume it's Rico and don't bother to turn around.
"Clara. What are you doing out here all by yourself?" A husky voice says from behind me. That is definitely not Rico so I turn around and I'm staring into the most beautiful eyes I've seen. His eyes. Drews eyes.
"I..i..i.. I just needed to get a..a.way.. " I stammer. This is the first we've talked since we were kids and we're put in our places.
"It's not safe for a wolf like you out here by herself, there are other clans who would hurt you. Come on clara. Let's go back." Drew says.
"Okay. I'm sorry." I say and put my head down. He looks at me strangly for a moment and then we start walking back. Since we are not running it takes us a while. All of a sudden it starts raining. And I let out a screech. As if I don't look bad enough now my hair is going to get all frizzed out! And in front of drew! Could this day get any worse?
