A/N: Short Update and maybe a bit of a filler, but necessary. I am already working on the next update so it won't be that long of a wait for the next one either.

The room was decorated with vibrant shades of pinks and oranges as Adelina arose from her slumber. She stretched her arms high above her head as she lifted her body up out of the bed. She sauntered over to the glass panes that overlooked the garden. The sun was beginning to set over the horizon, the colors dancing throughout the sky.

As she stood there, staring into the sky, a soft knock came from the door.

"Come in." Adelina's voice echoed through the room.

"I'm here to get you ready for tonight's events," a soft voice came from the entry way.

Adelina turned around and raised her brows as she took in the female that stood in front of her. The woman was shorter than Adelina, who stood at an average height compared to other females the village. She was also very thin with long red hair. She was lovely, but quite small. The woman stood there as Adelina stared, her eyes downcast.

"I'm sorry for staring. I haven't seen many other females here, besides Malora. I'm sorry to be so blunt, but you don't look like a vampire or demon?"

"I'm neither. I'm human, and nothing more. My name is Katherine," she stated blandly.

"Okay, well that explains it." Adelina let out a nervous chuckle.

"Do you mind sitting? I'd like to start by working on your hair."

"Yeah sure, good luck with that," Adelina giggled as she sat down in the chair Katherine had pulled out.

Katherine swiftly went to work on her hair, pulling and tugging. Adelina tried to keep a calm face, but couldn't help but let a wince escape with the stubborn knots. After what seemed like an eternity, Katherine slowed her hands and walked away.

"Here," Katherine said, handing her a gown wrapped up in plastic. She started to pull it out slowly, and a gasp escaped.

"W-what...I'm supposed to wear this? I've never seen anything so fancy before."

Adelina grasped the white dress in her hands. The material was smooth and silky under her touch.

"What is with the white, again, "Adelina muttered under her breath.

"I'm going to leave you to dress yourself," Katherine stated meekly and quietly exited the room.

Adelina stood there, grasping onto the dress, fear starting to send shivers through her body.

What sort of event was this? Wasn't this supposed to be her sister's engagement party?

She pulled off her t-shirt and pants before stepping into the dress. The dress felt soft on her skin and flowed in a wispy circle behind her. Adelina couldn't help but do a few twirls and danced around the room. She had never worn anything quite as exquisite as this.

"Sorry to interrupt the party," Asmund chuckled. Adelina jumped and whirled around to face him.

He looked devilishly handsome in a simple suit and tie, with his hair combed back.

"I'm sorry, I didn't hear you. I guess I got carried away."

Asmund chuckled and made his way towards her. "You look lovely."

"I've never wore anything quite like this before. There was never a reason for anything fancy; besides, where would we have found the material for something like this."

Asmund grabbed her hand, pulling her into his chest. He began to twirl her around the room in his arms. They both laughed and smiled as he spun her in his arms before dipping her low into the ground. He stared into her eyes as they creased with her smile, before lifting her back up and pulling her tightly into his chest. He held her there tightly, not wanting to let go of this moment they shared. After a few seconds passed, he pulled himself away.

"Tonight, while it might not be easy, I hope we can both enjoy ourselves. Try not to focus too much on your sister; focus on me...we will dance, laugh and ignore the others, okay?" Asmund lifted her hand and kissed her palm gently, his lips felt warm and soft.

"You ready to go now?" Asmund asked as he dropped her hand down.

"Give me one moment for a few finishing touches. I'll meet you at the entrance in a second," Adelina implored as she headed towards the bathroom door. "Just a second, okay?"

"I'll be waiting." Asmund turned the knob and headed out the door.

Adelina glided across the floor and into the bathroom. She kept her eyes downcast, towards the floor, until she was ready to see what laid before her. As she brought her eyes up to the mirror, her eyes grew wide at what stared back. The dirt ridden, muddy farm girl was no more. She looked pristine with clean hair, which was in small ringlets down her back. Her eyes shone brighter, with a glimmer that made them shine. She brought her hands up to her cheeks, touching them to make sure she was real. For a second, she let herself get lost in this moment.

She straightened herself up.

"Remember what you are in here for," she spoke softly to herself.

With that, she opened up the cabinet in front of her and reached behind a few items, searching. After a few seconds, she grasped onto a long piece of cloth and one of the knives she had stolen from Malora. She carefully pulled her dress up and secured the cloth around her upper thigh, making sure it was secure. She wrapped the knife around a few other pieces of cloth and pushed it into the fabric around her thigh, securing it all onto her body. She let her dress fall back to the floor and smoothed it out with her hands. She gave herself one more glance in the mirror before turning out of the bathroom and into the room. Walking up to the door, she took a few deep breaths to steady herself before grabbing the handle and stepping into the hall. Asmund smiled widely, the light caught in his eyes, making them sparkle a cerulean color. He held out his arm and nodded at her to take it.

Adelina gave him a side glance and gave him a small smile, before taking his arm and letting him lead the way into the party.
