Chloe's POV
I walked to drama class with Trinity to my left. When we got there, we sat down in our usual seats: the middle of the third/last row of chairs.
I started, "So have you seen James? Cuz I think I like him..."
She replied, "Yeah, he is pretty hot. But he's mine."
I laughed, "Haha we'll see!"
The bell rang and our teacher, Ms. Smith, introduced a new student. My jaw literally dropped as she said, "Class, please welcome a new fellow classmate, Christina Clark!"
She smiled shyly. You could tell right there that she was really shy. She shuffled over to our row and sat down on the last seat to the right.
Ms. Smith then let us split up into our groups for our play, The Music Man.
We watched Christina slowly stand up along with everyone else and sit by herself with one of the old scripts that Ms. Smith gave her.
Trinity then decided she wanted to go talk to her, because she knows what its like to be the new girl. She moved here from North Carolina last year, and she says it was one of the most uncomfortable moments of her life.
We walked over to her. She looked up then looked back down at the script, obviously pretending to be reading.
I said, "Hi, Christina. I'm Chloe."
Trinity said, "And I'm Trinity. Do you wanna come practice with us?"
She slowly said, "Umm... I don't know...okay I guess..."
We smiled comfortingly and said, "Come here. We normally practice in this closet over here so we can have our own space."
We led her to the closet and shut the door. Once we were inside, Trinity asked her, "So have you seen The Music Man before?"
She nodded and said, "Yeah I've seen the movie."
I said, "Cool me too. You know auditions are next week. is there anyone you might try out for? I'm thinking about Marian or Mayor Shinn."
Trinity said, "I'm thinking about Amaryllis, or maybe one of the Pick-a-Little ladies."
Christina said, "I think I'll try for one of the Pick a little ladies, or maybe the salesmen."
I nodded and said, "Cool. Hey, would you like to come sit with us at lunch today? Your brother is going to be there."
She nodded and said, "Okay, thanks!"
You could see that she was becoming more and more comfortable with us.
We ran through the Pick-a-Little song and Marian's "Till there was you" song, then Ms. Smith called us back into the classroom because the bell was about to ring.
When the bell rang, we walked on our way to the middle of the courtyard, where we met up with everyone else.
Christina asked us, "What do you guys have next period?"
I replied, "Math."
Trinity said, "French. How about you?"
She said, "Yearbook."
I said, "Cool. Well I guess I'll see you around."
Trinity smiled and said, "See you later."
She smiled back and said, "Bye."
