Rena looked different. Well, of course she looked different.
Last time I saw, she had blue and purple Hair with bits of glitter glowing off and crazy salmon colored Eyes.
Now, as she opened the door for me, I saw a completely different stanger. It was a bit to get used to when Skin first came out, but everybody had gotten used to it. I even remember one time I thought I had lost Rena at an amusment park, turns out, she was right behind me.
Her Skin was tanned to a dark brown that matched her Hair, exactly. And I mean EXACTLY. It almost blended in.
Rena's Eyes were bright blue, at least they looked like it because of her dark Face.
In her Eyes, were swirling misty whites.
"Are those the new Sky Eyes that came out?!" I asked in excitement as we walked down to her couch and search for the remote.
"I knew you would be the first to see them! I had to beg my parents for them!" she squealed highly.
She found the remote and turned it on, but I don't remember what was on.
I grabbed a bag of sugar candies from her table and munched on them as the silence went on.
Rena has been my friend about three months after Skin was released, it was her 15th birthday and she was wearing the most recent Hair color. It was velvet. I knew I had to ask her how she got it so soon and that's how we became friends. All the other girls were jealous of how she got the latest everything, except me, I was really looking for any compitision.
"Dakota, something weird was taped onto the Skin Shop building," Rena said randomly.
"What was it?"
From the pocket of her latest designer jeans, she pulled out a dirty piece of crumpled paper. And unfolded it.
It read:
Join the rebellion today! Fight for what's right and know your correct morals!
Interested? Come find us at the Alleyway Bar 7:00PM @ Saturday night on the 28th of August!
It was a pretty lame flyer if you asked me, only, like, two sentences on it.
"Haha, you found this on the Skin Shop?" I asked, what kind of rebellion were these people talking about? A rebellion to release the newest Skins faster? To build more Skin Shops? I mean, it was on one of their buildings, it had to be something related to that.
"Yeah, it was so weird, the whole building window was spotless and I saw this piece of shitty paper, so, I just took it." she laughed.
"How stupid. But do you know what bar Alleyway is?"
Rena frowned, "I've heard it before. People always talk stuff about it, don't they?"
I thought for a second, "It's the Unskinned building, the only one in the whole city of Seattle. Do you remember? The trashed one with old bricks from years ago?"
A light bulb suddenly flicked in her head, "Oh yeah! Nobody goes in that one, it's so dirty!"
We laughed together, "The 28th is tomorrow, we should check it out."
"Do you wanna? I mean, I kind of wanna see what will happen!"
Honestly, I would do anything to get some kind of action in this town. I knew Rena would, too.
After a couple chuckles, Rena began talking again.
"But I don't think I'm gonna go, Dakota. I mean, think of what people will think of us? I'm pretty well known for having the coolest and latest Skin, My reputation will go into ashes in just one day from going into the Alleyway!"
