Just confirming with all those confused, Louis still has briella's phone. Changes have been made in the last chapter accordingly.. Enjoy :).

"Have a good day!" Louis waved to a nice 56-year old woman as she smiled at him and went out the door. The smile vanished immediately after she was gone and louis let out a tired sigh.

It was the closing time and he was very, very tired. He stared at a certain switched off white i-phone which he had been staring at for the past three days. It was completely baffling for him that Briella didn't even come back to take her phone. Yes, she stood him up but she stood her phone up as well! This made him really wonder and worry if she was okay. Who would go without their phone for even an hour much less four days!

Louis scoffed, tossing the phone away in a drawer and rolling his eyes.

He locked all the drawers and gathered up the cash he was paid today, putting the tips in his pocket.

"Marissa!" Louis called out to a very lost Marissa who was busy in sorting out the new and the old garments.

He gave her the cash and recieved his pay cheque before going out of his workplace and to his place. He hurried more than usual because his friend Mark had invited him over at his bar to have a drink and hangout. He was quite happy, it had been a while since he had hungout with a friend. And Mark in particular, who had been by his side for so many years.

Louis quickly reached the hotshot club in the neighborhood which was bustling with crowd. He was able to get in without having to wait in the endless seeming line (perks of being friends with the owner) and made his way over to the bar, pushing through the sweaty drunk bodies with a crinkled nose. He spotted the familiar head of black hair with blue highlights, grinning a cheeky smile.

Still the same ole' Mark aye

"Hey mate! How are ya?" Louis felt a tight hug and hugged Mark back. They sat on the bar stools comfortably and Louis ordered a drink for himself immediately.

"I'm grand, you? I heard you got yourself a fiancé! Finally, he settles down from his playboy ways!" Louis exclaimed and Mark blushed, looking downat his feet and rubbing the back of his neck embarrassingly.

"I love her, Louis. I really do. I mean who would have thought I would fall for my housekeeper's daughter? Yeah I know, long story. It's pretty much one of those cliche chic flicks teenage girls read, surprisingly it happened to me though. Best thing ever. " Mark said and Louis patted his back. He felt happy for him but there was somewhere jealousy lingering in his heart. Somewhere. Not that he wanted the lass for himself, not at all. He just wanted something like that, and he had his hopes up until a certain someone crashed them.

The look on Louis' face didn't go unnoticed by his best mate though, "What happened, Louis?" Mark asked with a frown. He couldn't help but be concerned for his friend for Louis always had a bright, cheerful smile on his face.

"Oh...nothing, absolutely nothing. I just got lost for a moment. Uh, can I be excused to the loo for a minute, Mark?" Louis smiled, or well tried to smile and Mark hummed a 'sure' before Louis quickly hurried away. Mark stared at Louis' retreating figure and breathed a heavy sigh.

Louis on the other hand didn't know what was wrong with him. Here he was, finally chatting with his friend after such a long time and all he was thinking about was...Briella.

Louis huffed in frustration and made his way to the bathroom, pushing through the sweaty bodies and people humping everywhere. He cringed and reached the bathroom door. He could hear slight noises coming from inside. Knocking twice, he made sure no one was in there before  opening the bathroom door.

His eyes landed on a figure and he froze.

"Bloody hell!" Louis' eyes widened and he had a sharp intake of breath. There in front of him was Briella. His Briella. In torn clothes, messed up hair and running down make-up, at her foot was an unconscious man lying with a broken nose and his hands on his crotch. Briella looked at Louis, and halted. She was awfully shivering and her eyes were bloodshot. It seemed as if she had been sleepless for days and someone had caused havoc on her.

On seeing Louis, the recognition in her eyes was quickly replaced with surprise and then tears. Tears slowly made their way down her face and her lips quivered, as she jumped on him, hugging him with all her might.

Louis caught her as quickly as he could and wrapped his arms around her as if she would run away if he let go. He didn't know what to feel, he had no clue what had just happened. All he knew was he had to protect this girl who seemed so brave on the outside and was just as fragile on the inside.

"Let's get outta here" Louis mumbled in Briella's hair. She nodded furiously and they both pulled out of the hug. Louis took Briella's face softly in his hands and made her look at him "Relax, I am here. It's all okay. Nobody will hurt you." Louis said these words while looking deeply in Briella's eyes and she felt a little shiver go down her spine. She knew at once that she believed him. She didn't know why she even held so much trust in a person she barely knew, but she just knew it. They made their way outside the club into some fresh air.

"Just wait a moment, please. Don't go anywhere okay?" Briella nodded and Louis ran back into the club towards Mark.

"Louis! Where were you mate? I swear I thought you ditched on me to shag a girl or something!" Mark laughed and stopped in between, seeing the look on Louis' face.

"I'm so sorry Mark, something happened. Briella, I mean, this girl I know she's not–"

"I got it mate. I got my girl, go get yours. We'll do this another time for sure. Rain check, yeah?" Mark smiled and Louis sighed in relief, smiling at his understanding friend.

"Thanks mate, definitely rain check on that." Louis quickly got out of the club and looked around. He spotted Briella standing at the same place he left her and ran towards her.

"Oh thank god, let's go now. My place or yours?" Louis asked her as he called a cab.

"Anywhere but mine please" Briella whispered quietly and Louis nodded understandingly. He hadn't known this girl for long, but he wanted to. He wanted to know more and more things about her, talk to her more, make her smile and laugh more, just be some more with her.

The cab arrived and they both settled into it. Louis gave his address to the driver as he drove them to his place. "Will you tell me what happened now?" Louis asked briella gently with concern clear in his eyes. Briella shook his head, "Let us reach your house first." She softy said and Louis nodded, gently rubbing her shoulder.

She let out a breathy sigh and got comfortable. Soon, she felt her eyes drooping and her head falling on Louis' shoulder. Louis let out a small smile, and placed his hand on her head to keep it from falling.

"We're here Bri, wakey wakey." Louis whispered  while Briella just mumbled incoherently, he chuckled and placed his hands under her knees and back, lifting her up. She immediately wrapped her arms around his neck as if it would be an automatic response and curled into him, soaking in his warmth and comfort.

Louis' grip on Briella tightened as he carried her into his flat. Unlocking the door and opening it with one hand, he brought her inside and placed her on his bed which was just a little bigger than a single bed but smaller than a double.

Briella was sprawled across the bed now, with her eyes half open, her dress had ridden up very high but Louis made sure to avert his eyes from there. He respectfully patted her dress down, and started leaving but couldn't, as he found a delicate hand grabbing his wrist. "Stay, please." He turned back, and saw the plea in Briella's eyes. He placed his other hand on her hand, "I'm not going anywhere love, just bringing you a hot chocolate. Figured you might want one, specially after all the heavy drinking." Louis amusedly smiled at Briella and she nodded, smiling back. As Louis left, she couldn't believe her luck. How had she come across such a perfect boy? Why would he help her when he was clearly hanging out with a friend, why would he bring her messy ass over to his house when he could have stayed at the party and danced with other girls, why would he make her a hot chocolate? Why would he take care of her? Why?

And that too even after she had stood him up.
