"Hello, and welcome to BBC 1 Saturday news it's 11:00am." The broadcaster announced to the cameras. I gulped and whispered to myself that everything would be all right but I was gritting my teeth so tight I thought they were all going to break. There was a male and female sitting on the beige leather sofa and they had placed a pale red armchair next to them. Bella was standing on the opposite side of the room on a high director chair. I could tell she was excited but when she caught my eye I looked away shyly. Then I lifted my head up again and she mouthed good luck, gave me a reassuring smile and the thumbs up. "Breath Zoe" I murmured nervously to myself. "I'm Neil Wilkins." The man spoke confidently. "And I'm Ellie Ford" The other presenter voiced clearly. I closed my eyes tightly and took a deep breath. "And this is the story you've all been waiting for; Zoe Austin." I opened my eyes and felt a little bit more relaxed: you can do this Zo; if you can survive a swarm of ferocious zombies then you can to this! I thought to myself as the cameramen turned the lens and zoomed them directly onto me.

I strode over to the couch and was waved by Neil to sit down. "Good morning Zoe" Neil greeted me. "Would you like to introduce yourself?" He continued. I nodded, "Hello, my name is Zoe Austin and I'm 16. I am here today to tell you about my journey of survival to finding the cure to the infection of people over the age of 15." I took in a deep breath and waited for the question that I dreaded yet had practiced in front of the mirror so many times. Then Ellie asked it: "How are you doing?" I smiled so much I thought my face would rip. "Surprisingly", I told her looking directly into the camera lens "I'm doing ok." I needed to laugh but at the same time cry I couldn't figure out my emotions. Mixed feelings swirled up inside me trying to break out; I had zipped my lips up, promising myself I would never remind me of what happened, however now I want to unlock them and shout out the things I had heard and seen and the horrors I had been through.

Smiling I continued, "I have needed to figure things out for a long time now and I believe that if I share the savagery that I have seen, heard and been through then I might be able to sleep better at night." I admitted to everyone in the studio and to possibly the world. "That's amazing, you are truly inspirational to us all." Ellie Smiled. "Right then. Let's get started," Neil said and Ellie smiled at me and then I began. The events that I was about to reveal were full of so many horrible memories that haunted me and woke me up screaming, sweating and crying in the night. I took a deep breath, tucked my hairs behind my ears, and began.
