Abducted

Chapter 16

Mia

"OMG Beth, Brandon is back." I say as I am looking out the front window.

I run for the front door and as I make it outside Brandon is putting the car in park. He then gets out of the car and goes to the back door. He opens the door and leans in to get something. When he stands back up he has Olivia in his arms.

"Olivia!" I say as I run toward them.

I take Olivia from Brandon arms.

"Oh my sweet angel. Mommy is so sorry for what has happen. I'm not going to let anything happen to you again." I say

Beth walks up next to me and puts her arms around both of us. I then hand Olivia to Beth. 

"Beth can you please take her inside and get her something to eat and run her a warm bath." I say.

"Of course Mia. Take your time I wont let her out of my sight for a minute." Beth says then turns toward the house.

I then turn back to Brandon. 

"Thank you for bringing her back to me." I say looking up at Brandon.

"I told you that is what I was going to do. I keep my promises Mia. You look like you lost 20 pounds." He tells me.

"I am fine, don't worry about me." I say looking away from him.

"Don't worry about you Mia. You look like you can barely stand on your own." He ells me with concern in his voice.

"I am fine. I promise that I will eat as soon as I get back in the house."

"Thank you Mia. You should have been taking better care of yourself. Where had Olivia been if she had to come home to her mom in the hospital or worse." He tells me.

"Thank you for caring Brandon. You don't have to pretend that you actually care about me." I say.

"Pretend? Mia I mint everything that I said before all of this. I care for you and Olivia deeply. I wouldn't of stopped in till she was back home with you." Says Brandon as he takes a step closer to me.

I didn't know what to say. I never had anyone feel this way about me and I haven't felt this way about anyone other then Olivia. Brandon then takes my hand.

"Mia, you and Olivia are all that I can think about. I want you both in my life. You just got her back and I am not going to rush you. I am not that guy. You go spend time with Olivia and we can talk about this another day. I will have Mike pass and pick up the equipment tomorrow that way you have a full day with Olivia with no one bothering you." Says Brandon.

"Oh Brandon, your too good of a guy for me. I would just complicate your life." I say.

"That's just it Mia. You uncomplicated my life. I know who I want to be because of you. I want to be the guy that you deserve and I want Olivia to be my daughter. Mia I love you and Olivia. Take a few days and we'll talk once everything is cooled down. Just worry about Olivia and take care of yourself as well." 

Brandon takes me in a hug and we linger that way for a few minutes. Brandon doesn't want to let me go but I need to be with Olivia and he needs to give me time to think. Even though he wants to be the person comforting both of us it isn't his place and he has to get back to Kenwood to fill out all the proper paper work to get the office job and get out of the field. 

"I have to go Mia but call me if you need anything." Brandon says letting go of me.

"Okay, thanks again for everything." I tell him.

"It was no problem Mia, I wanted to help you. Just call if you need Mia." Brandon says as he turns and heads back to his car. 

I watch Brandon get back into the car. I continue to watch in till I could no longer see the car. Once I couldn't I turned and headed back inside the house. Once inside the house I head into the kitchen and sit next to Olivia and Beth. Beth makes me something to eat and sets it in front of me. 

"What happens now?" Asked Beth

"I don't know but I right now I just want to finish eating and head up stairs for a bath and to snuggle up with Olivia and go to bed." I tell her.

"What about Zack?" Beth asked me.

"Brandon didn't say anything about him. If he was still a problem Brandon would have never left."

"I am pretty sure he or someone else he works with is sitting out there watching the house right now. He cares to much about you to just up and leave with out leaving you with some type of protection." Says Beth

Once Olivia is finished eating Beth takes her upstairs to run her bath water. I also head upstairs to my room to take my bath. Once everyone has had their baths I take Olivia into my room and we get in bed and snuggle up. Beth headed to her room and went to bed herself.

Brandon

It has been a few days since I last saw Mia. I said that I would give her time but I don't know how much longer I can stay away from her. I want nothing more to drive back to her house and we live our lives. So to keep my mind off of things I head to Kenwood to get everything settled and to arrange for me to be at the desk instead of in the field.

"Brandon are you sure that you want to do this? You're the best agent that we have." Says Victor

"Yes Victor I am sure about this. I am ready to settle down and start a family. I don't want to have to worry about my family while I am on an assignment." I say.

"We all go threw that Brandon. We going to need our best guy on the case."

"You will still have Mike he is just as good as I am." I tell him.

"It's you choice Brandon but you will be missed in the field." He says.

"Just give Mike my position and I'll stay and do office work."

"If that is what you want Brandon. You can get started on the paper work for Mia's case. I want a full work up of everything." Victor says

"You will have it on your desk by tomorrow morning."

"That is all for now Brandon. I am going to go let Mike know about his promotion." He says a turns to leave.

I watch Victor walk out the room. Then I get started on the paper work. Since I left Mia's she was all I could think about. I want nothing more then to pick up the phone and call and see if she is okay. I had a unmarked car sitting at her drive way to keep a eye one the place. Last I herd the lights in her room went out about thirty minutes ago. I wish that I could be there with her now.
