She looked around her, mesmerized by her new home. A palace, a mansion, a paradise. She danced around the ballroom floor, not a care in the world until-
"Miss.Katrina."
"Huh?" She said, forcing herself back into reality.
"Miss. We really should get you ready. You have a large schedule for tomorrow. As it is your wedding, of course." Butler Barnaby. He is kind, kind of Katrina's closest friend. But, he unfortunately, as she is 16, is not allowed to get her dressed any longer. She has to have a maid every day, squeeze her into these horrid, old lady dresses. Katrina wanted to wear what all the other girls wore, a nice, short top and some denim shorts. But, being royalty was not that simple.
"Katrina, I'm so very sorry that people are putting you through forced marriage.. it's like the olden days ye' see. Long ago, marriage was always forced, royal or not. But then, we had the greedy age. Generations of people used up all of our resources in this world. I don't know what they thought they were doing!" Maid Lucia explained, "Then there came us. We are left to survive on the scraps that we 'ave. That means that we have to populate humanity again. That's why such a young girl like you is getting married through force, not love. I truly do wish that you learn to love Prince Darian. Please, I'm asking you nicely, find some good in that rusty old dirt bag."
Katrina giggled at the description of her future husband.
"I'll try!" She slipped her feet into her gorgeous white pumps and made her way outside.

"Alright. Ready for your first day at school?" Butler Barnaby asked, opening the door to the car.
"Ready as I'll ever be."
The journey dragged on as Barnaby explained some simple rules.
"1. DO NOT tell anyone about your royalty. If you do, you could lose your normal life.
2. DO act like a normal human being.
3. DO NOT become a bully
4. DO be friends with everyone!"
Barnaby went on for like 100 more rules and just as he finished, the car stopped.
"We are here. Stop your jabbering and get out, Katrina." The rude driver says.
"Bye Barnaby!"
She waved goodbye, a mixture of loneliness and happiness was flowing through her veins.

###BRRRRIIIIINNNNGGGG###

"Eeep!!!"
'Must have just been the school bell' she thought. Over the other side of the car park, there were a small group of girls, they looked nice. Katrina decided that she needed to have someone to direct her to reception.
"Excuse me! Guys!" She called. They looked at her and then strutted on, not even giving a second glance. Katrina moved back, knocking into something.
"Oof.. ah.. a wa-"
"A wall? I'm not a wall..." a low voice says.
"I... I'm so sorry! I uh... gotta... erm..." She stutters.
"Hey... name is Ian."
"Sorry, Ian,. I was walking and didn't see you and.."
"Don't worry about it. Your name is?"
"Katrina."
"Pretty... I haven't seen you around. You new to this dump?"
"Thanks and yeah... I just moved here. Literally this morning..."
"Ooh! Where do you live?"
"Uh... I can't remember..." She lied. Just as Ian was going to say something, Katrina's phone rang. Barnaby.
"Sorry! This is important!" She rushes her words, making them slur slightly.
"It's okay! Reception is that way. See ya around!"
She picked up her phone out of her bag and brought it up to her ear.
"Hello?"
"Hello! It's Barnaby! Made any new friends?"
"Kinda... I met a guy. He is nice but I dunno where he went. Now I need to go to reception."
"Alright! Just ask for directions! Gotta run! Bye."
"Bye."

"Hello. How can I help?" The receptionist says nicely.
"Hey. I just moved here and I have no idea what I'm doing or where I'm going."
"Name?"
"Katrina Aurora Waters."
"Oh. My. Goodness."
"Nobody is allowed to know."
"Alright. Your just a normal student?"
"Hopefully."
"Okay..." She goes on to give me directions, classes, timetables. Everything.

*Lunch*

Katrina had nobody to sit with for lunch so she just searched for Ian. After about 15 minutes, she found him, sitting outside, munching on a lettuce sandwich.
"Kat! Hey come take a seat!" There was another girl next to him.
"Hi! Ian told me all about you! I'm Mari! Nice to meet you!" Her soothing voice calmed her and she took a seat. Throughout all of lunch they just sat there, chatting about useless things like bat man and stuff.
Katrina finished the day nicely by saying goodbye to the others and she went out of school quickly, desperate to go to her palace.

Authors Note
Okay so this is a new book with a nice fresh start. I'm still improving my story writing skills, so I'm sorry if any of the chapters are boring or drag on a bit.
